I had a wonderful opportunity to watch this dance at Jemez Pueblo in 1985, I was Invited by a Community Member of Jemez during the Indigenous Peoples Language Conference hosted by Oklahoma University, at the University of New Mexico. She phoned an Elder, and I was accepted. I rode with her to where the Dance was happening. I was Grieving for my who had died a few months before, but I still went to this Dance as well as the Buffalo Dance. My Cree Name is White-Buffalo Cardinal, my older son who is 28 is named White-Calf Cardinal, my Younger Son, Yellow-Calf Cardinal. In the Dance, the Spirit World healed my Grief. God Bless the Jemez People...

Me being Native American, I can say there is no other people in this world that has the same history to Native Americans than the Irish people. Both of our ancestors were colonized by the British and the Catholic church. Our ancestor warriors fiercely resisted the British occupation. The colonizers stole our children away from their parents and forced them into boarding schools where they stripped the kids of their culture, language, customs, etc. Even today the northern part of your lands is still in the hands of the British, and we only have tiny areas of our lands. I must also add, before colonization, both of our ancestors were living in tribal societies and clans. Thanks for your love, support, respect. As I feel the same way about the Irish people. ☘️ 🪶

@@hildakane9600 You're welcome my Irish friend. I do believe there is some unknown spiritual bond between the Native Americans and Irish people. Maybe that is why my comment brought you to tears. My grandmother's brother was married to an Irish woman and she didn't really have any problems being part of my tribe. She used to cook with the ladies when my people held celebrations, she was an elementary school teacher for the tribe, took part in native ceremonies, she even had her kids raised in their native heritage. While at the same time, she had no trouble at all nor forgot her Irish roots. Even today her kids embrace both their Irish/Native heritage. But unfortunately she and her husband passed on, bless their souls. One time my family and I were at a restaurant, our waiter was an Irish man, he was telling my family that he has native american ancestry. He was also saying that his people from the irish community love to brawl/fist fight. My family response was wow your people are very similar to our people because we love to fist fight too. We were just laughing about it.
