I love listening to Ivan’s compositions, I played marimba in Highschool, and I loved it when people play his compositions 😊

The marimba is such an underrated instrument Thank you for sharing this with us As a musician for most of my life ( though I guess I am pretty young) I thought I had a firm grasp on the 'nice' instruments I guess I still have a lot to learn

Ivan - you make it look effortless. Like the mallets are an extension of your arms. Love this piece. Thank you

I was going to perform it at the end of last year but solo contests were cancelled. This song has been looping in my head ever since. It is so insanely good, major props to Ivan.

Every time I hear this solo, I just get so happy. This is definitely my favorite marimba solo I’ve ever heard! Hopefully I’ll be able to learn how to play it some day

My nephew who is a Junior in highschool played Momento for a solo contest. He won firsts place and got a $500 scholarship. Also he and my father are building a Marimba and are almost done. It's been an amazing work in progress.

I liked this recording a lot more than the other one of Anthem. Still, both are very fantastic, and Anthem is just an amazing piece in general. I hope to see the classical genre rise in popularity again. Keep doing what you do Ivan, your work is very inspiring, and I think your music would definitely speak to the younger generations. Hope to see more very soon. :)

I'm very impressed with his use of 2 mallets per hand. Gary Burton is one of the few xylophone jazz players that uses two mallets per hand. This young man has far places to go with his music.

This is an amazing piece, and I was thinking about playing it for Solo and Ensemble. Do you thing if I pushed everything an octave up it would be playable on a 4.3 octave marimba

In addition to buying a white grand piano, several types of trumpets, a French horn and a cello I'm going to buy a marimba when I get older

You should add a violin to that list

AND PEGGY! Well that's gonna be a ton of money. Unless you're an advanced marimba player, the one he has wouldn't be a very good idea to get considering it's a little more than a decent car. Very large investment for an instrument.

Unless I'm wrong, it seems to me that Ivan uses the same red soft mallet for his pieces. Does anybody know what pair it might be?
