(Edit :- well, I'll have to admit that I may have made it sound wrong by the way I delivered the message. Not all mainland Indians discriminate us North Eastern Indians. I have some few friends who are from other parts of India besides the North East. They're amazing people I should tell you. I'm extremely lucky because I came home last year on August before these pandemic started but my siblings are still out there facing the same racist treatment. Northeast often referred to as Chinese in the other parts of India- Racism in our own motherland, few steps away from northeast and its a common tongue to be called Chinese (the only word many use since we have a different facial features and which is a common feature in every Asian but which is alien to Indians but they are not to be blamed, but it's the lack of awareness which our govt never feels to point out), and on 2019 a scheme was introduced coined "NCR", "CAB" without citizens concern and soon after the Citizens Amendment Bill(CAB) turned into Citizen Amendment Act(CAA), I would like to ignore my personal beliefs and just state the facts about it, then came false information just like the covid 19 false news which was for the assistance of the current govt who tried suppressing the revolting students across the country who opposed the above CAA and NRC (which itself holds its hidden objectives), and northeastern parts of country had build detention camps which was sanctioned by our current Prime Minister (on 2018,Rs 46 crore equivalent to $ 60, 39, 321. 14 usd sanctioned for detention camps )which was supposed to hold illegal immigrants which on the declaration of the NRC and CAA hold a different narration and definition of those purpose, corruption is a big threat india has faced and the NRC and CAA was enough to rage many students and literates in many parts of the country, the govt tried suppressing the voices by using police forces and media, students were brutally beaten at their own college campus which was streamed on social media by the victims who had been participating their non violence movement, (there are many videos leading to Delhi College students who were protesting against NRC and CAA passed by the govt and media failed to be transparent and speaking for the govt, it was slowly gaining its momentum where more and more were being cautions about this and more were joining this protest, and then came Covid -19. it's funny how this pandemic helped the govt which was being pinned and when thing sweet heating up this suppressed the voices and those victims effort all went in vain,but I hope even though such pandemic has hit our world, nobody should forget what was happening before this pandemic (just theory-isnt Indian govt the one who profited the most with this pandemic? So shouldn't they be held a possible suspect for covid?)And now in many parts of the country the racism against northeasterns peaked with this pandemic as many students and workers who were stuck in different parts of the country, one of many cases was recorded live where a northeastern student was denied entry to a grocery store and the reason for hid denial was because he doesn't look Indian (the student even mentions that he has his national id card and yet he isn't allowed)Just one search and one will find many cases as such, the whole world seems to be educating everyone not to coin covid-19 as China virus due to racism and that gave many North Eastern's perspective that what we been facing for so many years isn't something that we should accept it as but rather we demand the whole nation to be educated about us. And show some light on the facilities provided( to the ignored parts of the country ). I failed to sum up everything but this is just an outlook one needs to see to understand what North east is facing
