The Isle is Fighting Back!!

After my last video i was invited into the world of Isle modding and let me tell you.. The communities are fighting to save legacy. The stuff I've seen is insane. If they had a old version of TI dev kit I'm pretty sure they could entirely re-make Legacy in the way we all wanted years ago. Two headed dinosaurs, New creatures, Dragons, Evrima dinosaurs, Unreleased Evrima Dinosaurs, New Hypo's, The list just goes on! I can't wait to show you some of this stuff, Massive thanks to Asura for letting us record on their server!

@@-MochiWochi- ah yes thank you, I thought it was the ouranosaurus but I kept forgetting the name, it’s a really interesting hadrosauriform but I kept thinking of the shantungosaurus as it appears everywhere in this game. definitely both very interesting and peculiar hadrosaurs, ouranosaurus having some of the longest spines of any known hadrosaur and shantungosaurus being one of the largest known hadrosaurs

I get why devs can be a bit upset at modders. But honestly, modding is difficult and people only do it because they genuinely love the game. Devs should be getting modders to work with them to make the game better. Cause everybody does it cause they love the game.

i think my issue with people saying oh devs should hire/sponsor modders isn't as cut and dry as that like modders use the game the devs make as it is using "actual"(not saying mods are not but its a different slandered) not work on developing new systems and its just not cost effective right now for them to do since most of the stuff being added in is new systems and stuff. like i get what your saying and i think it would be cool to see just how far modders could keep up but like yea

They shouldn't be upset at all, a dedicated community of modders can keep games very much alive and there's plenty of examples, the only reason they're getting upset is because these modders a making the game more enjoyable than the devs themselves which is sure to bruise their egos

Modding is so neat. I don't think mods wipe out everything the devs have worked so hard to make, they build off of it. The models, the textures, the sounds wouldn't be there if the game wasn't there and hadn't given inspiration. You know what else is neat? Hearing Anthomnia squeal like a little girl. 🤣❤

Again, it is so feckin cool seeing you love the mods Anth! I'm actually kinda touched that you thought the Makallo (shark boi allo) was a custom model instead of just me using the grab tool lmao. Like I said in the last video, I will not stop modding legacy until they delete it, and when modding support comes to Evrima, you can bet your bottom dollar that I will be right there modding it!

Thanks for visiting both modding communities again, Anth. Always a blast to watch your videos about them and showcasing some stuff. We're really hurt that Legacy WILL die in the future, but that's why we do all of this. We have a passion for this game and want to give everyone the chance to enjoy it as long as its still around (even if that includes some fun and cursed mods :p)! We constantly come up with new ideas to keep Legacy fresh and interesting for people who maybe don't like to hang around in Evrima that much or just folks who don't want to see Legacy die. Modded is not better don’t use stupid hashtags because modding can’t even exist without the base game. I agree that some modding is okay but at the end of the day I want to play a dinosaur game that’s fun and has mechanics that make sense. Not some sloppy add on that got downloaded and spawns in the world to look goofy and gross

But as i said, we mod out of PASSION for the game, most of us have 1000+ hrs in Legacy only. And if someone decides to play as a "goofy and gross" looking creature, they're allowed to, no? No one tells you, you have to like or use mods. ^^

It's amazing the community making and developing magnificent mods to try to save the legacy at all costs, and compare the work of modders with the work of lazy and selfish Devs who can ban you if the person is going to criticize with facts, it is an immeasurable shame. , in my opinion, the only way to save Legacy would be if modders themselves had the prowess of knowing how to create a new Dev Kit to support mods so they can try to relive those good old days of the golden age of Mods, Bad Wolf, Primordial Tyrants Etc.

@@HydragonofDeath Fair. But people have a right to change their mind. After all, it wasn’t marketed that way, it was just an ideal that wouldn’t be fulfilled in the future. But I see your point, and also, I think it’s the thing, you shouldn’t have to include modders into your team if you’re against it or are uncomfortable with modding anyway. I have nothing against it, I personally don’t like modded games but if it was confined to one server I wouldn’t mind. I just don’t want people to think, because there are good modders, doesn’t mean they would be a good edition to the team or the like. I understand without these editions, Legacy is pretty much has nothing new going for it and people love mods, so it would be profitable to add mods or paid mods and etc. However, on the other side, it’s their game and if they dislike mods, I understand, people don’t mess with the game because they hate it, they mess with the game because they love it. However, at the end of the day, people still messed with the game and therefore I can see how that can lower their appreciation, especially since the credit goes to the modders not the actual creators to the game. However, I understand the entertainment of having mods, it’s not my cup of tea but It kept people active and interested in the game.

Anyone that "hates" modes needs a reality check. People work really hard on the modes that are made too. Yea some are memes but some have heart and passion behind them, I'm sorry that the moding community can do something with your game that you couldn't, or didn't want. I would be so happy if Evrima brought all this into their servers. I much prefer the look and feel of Evrima because it's far more polished and I love visual details like that, but would love the ability to add and use custom mods like these and not have to swap between legacy and Evrima.

I think if they try to stop the community from modding they will be shooting themselves in the foot. Modding is like fanfiction or fanart; it's how the community expresses its love of the media through effort and creativity. If they punish modders, they will be punishing their most loyal and engaged players. They'll kill their own community for the 'purity' of their game.

Gonna be a debbie downer for a bit, but this modding response from one of the devs just re-highlighted why i quit supporting the Isle in the first place. I can't in good conscience support behavior the devs of this game keep continually displaying, it's equivalent to a bunch of toxic man children raging at the top of their lungs whenever someone looks wrong in their direction or, heaven forbid, dares to suggest something not aligned with their vision of the game. I could call the development team of this game a lot of things, but sympathetic and professional are definitely, and unfortunately, not among them.

After all the traction Path of Titans has gotten lately, and it's interestings mechanics, I almost regretted not buying PoT instead of the Isle as of today even after all those memories I've had, I had a choice of buying either The Isle which was popping at the time or PoT and I chose The Isle.. But it standed the test of time because PoT looks much more polished and refined, with it's constantly updating schedule. 1 must say, I haven't lost all faith in the Isle, even though I dislike the creator Dondi, i want the game to succeed because I still feel like it's potential was never fully realized in the end. Not saying it was Dondi's fault, but Karma really got him at the end.

Yeah hard disagree about PoT looking better. Their dinosaurs are decently modeled but the animations for a lot of them are very stiff, the sound design is just overall quite bad with every dino sounding nearly the same, though I like the idea of the precise movement it just looks very unnatural and weird ( Isle DEFINITELY did that much better ). if PoT improved the rigging and got a better sound designer it could stand a chance but as it is even beasts of bermuda dinosaurs look far more alive lol

I've never played this game. But, my favorite fish is the angler fish. My favorite dino is the Spino (barz lmao). I'd love to see a Spino that looks like the Ark: Survival Evolved Spino. It just looks so menacing compared to the flimsy looking Spino in this game (potentially real depiction). Especially since Spino was the biggest carnivore ever.

That acros hit box is still up where his head would normally be lol. And you can't swim better bc you look more like a fish😂 skin mods normally don't change stats. Tho some skin mods come with sound mods as well. Best thing you can do to make skins help with game play is put glowing skins on all the carnivores to see them better at night. Great vid tho!
