Even trained pianists are just in awe of how incredible Anthony was. I mean his playing ability was beyond incredible and I don’t believe that anyone could possibly be better. I can think of a couple who are just as talented but this is incredibly rare. I sure hope they have pianos and orchestras in heaven. This is definitely one thing I could listen to for all eternity. Anthony’s testimony and answer to Bill Gaither’s question of his greatest accomplishment is so true. He said that he hopes his music leads people to Jesus Christ and I truly believe that when you watch and listen to him, that he saved many souls and continues this day, through these recordings. I know, it seems so terrible at first to read how he passed, but when you think about it, he was doing the work he loved and I believe was a gift from God Himself as the best piano player (pianist) I have ever heard. Period. Anyone that can perform where you feel like you are witnessing nothing less than God’s talent like Anthony had is truly a person of God and faith. Look at some of the faces of the greatest singers sitting there in the crowd in awe at his playing. Many of the classic David Phelps performances have the awesome foundation of Anthony at the piano. Anthony Burger, the greatest pianist of all time.

I loved to watch him play. That was a testimony to God in itself! When the spirit would hit him and he would lose himself in the music. He'd start rocking that piano bench and it seemed that he couldn't move his hands fast enough to express his emotions. What a blessing to watch him and hear him. I know he is with Jesus and playing for the Angel Choir.

I actually made it to one of his concerts at a local church. His total persona -- playing, demeanor, etc -- was much more inspiring than what comes across in his videos. It was truly an awe-inspiring event. RIP, Anthony. There'll never be another person like you.

Anthony and Kim Collingsworth are both true examples of how God works and shows His power in people. Anthony was never supposed to be able to use his hands again after his accident when he was very little. God proved the doctors wrong. Kim never had a piano teacher, yet her she is now carrying on the music torch. God’s power is unlimited and un comprehensible by mankind.

I met Anthony on a cruise and fell in love with him and his music. He was the sweetest little guy and talk to me for quite a bit. A couple cruises later was when he had his heart attack and died. I bought three of his CD’S And I treasure them.

He is not to be replaced. With his music and testimony he still speaks and gives God all the glory. One. Of the most profound testimonies I ever heard him give was like a casual comment. I never tire of watching Anthony play. The look on the faces of those who watch him in these videos all are in awe of him as well. The reason for me is the same as with them. It isnt just his talent. Yes it is Gid given, but it is more than that. When you watch or hear him play, you are witness to a miracle of God. He was told he would never even use his hands again. What a Mighty God we serve that can touch the hands of a small child and use him to bring praise and glory all over the world for our Almighty God.

Sadly Anthony Burger was taken from us a few years ago at the age of 44 but he lives on through his amazing piano playing abilities. When you consider the seriousness of burn related injuries he sustained as a young boy, serious enough Doctors told him he'd likely never have use of his hands.... well, miracles do still happen today. God blessed Anthony Burger and we were the beneficiaries.

Don’t hold your breath. Listen to Bill Gaither’s interview with Anthony, who recalls starting out at age 3 and later (possibly at age 5?) spending 9 years studying classical piano, then 15 years with the KingsMen quartet. Don’t know your resume, but would guess that you might be a little late to catch up with an extremely unique wonder of God. Ambition is great, but “playing as well as Anthony” is not likely. A more attainable goal would be to learn from KZbin some of his techniques. Interesting to me is how slow Gaither was in hiring him. Looking back, those two or so years were wasted. (At least for Gaither) Hope you become a great player.

Sydney Klarich: David's expression is Awe, I believe, he is witnessing the same God Gifted talent that he has been given, in another person! Anthony's musical genious, brain, ear, eye, hand coordination, is every bit as impressive as David's brain and lung control, and perfect vocal cords combination, they both are capable of producing perfection! It is rare to find that once in a millenium, let alone twice in the same room! In other words, David is impressed!
