Anthony Salcito - The New Classroom Experience

Anthony Salcito, Global Vice-President for Education, Microsoft discusses why technology and computers have yet to have a significant impact on education in the classroom.
In this talk Anthony explain why he believes technology can be used to make a difference on learning, how learners and teachers can be empowered with new techniques and experiences that connect them to 21st century skills that enable them not only contribute to the economic workforce but also to solve some of the challenges that we're facing on the planet.

The idea of students using holograms & interacting w/ virtual space does not align w/ the developmental needs of students. When learning something new, students need concrete learning experiences that are infused with logical & physical attributes; then they can move to abstract concepts.The argument being made is that students no longer learn this way due to their access to tech. Can you convince me that technology can teach students to read, count, critically think, social development etc.?

Concrete learning experiences are not learned in school, they are to be learned in real life.
