At the end of the day. Islam is the most well rounded mma fighter in the world. His striking defense is seriously high level, his clinch game is brutal with knees and sweeps, his ground game is elite, his transitions and scrambles, Islam is just as good as it gets. Dustin poirior is an absolute dog, but there isn't much he can do in my opinion, the fight is going to have that same khabib comparison where people are gonna be talking how long can Dustin keep it on the feet, cause that's his only chance of winning

I agree with Anthony Smith. Islam is a better mixed martial artist in terms of his skillset but Khabib was much more dominant. Despite how his record looks he has had moments of vulnerability. Was taken down by Thiago Moises, took a knee when he ran into Davi Ramos’ jab, Volk looked really good against Islam and even dropped him in the final round, and he was infamously knocked out by Adriano Martins. So yes it isn’t as cookie cutter as everyone thinks it is but with that being said I think Islam wins even though I love DP, he’s just far too much of an elite grappler for DP and isn’t bad defensively like BSD was.

Anthony really surprised me sometimes. Some days he says stupid things, and articulates the most logical and reasonable analysis. I feel Islam will smother Poirier. As much as a fan i am of Dustin, the level of wrestling experience and islams evolved striking are both very bad combinations for Dustin’s style.
