Smith is so genuine, it has always been refreshing. Also I like how when an analyst criticizes a fighter the response is “you can’t talk you never fought” but then smith criticizes some fighters and they still get upset.

And I like his explanation of the difference between injuries, you can go in with a messed up knee but a shoulder popping out there is no chance you can win that.

The best of your interviews. For some reason, I can listen to Anthony all day. I guess it's a mixture of being well-spoken, with interesting things to talk about, and a pleasing vocal tone. (God, I'm starting to sound like Luke)

You're exactly right. I keep saying it. Anthony Smith has the best voice in MMA. He needs to be on PPV cards. He has a 1 in a million voice. It's not exactly clear to me how the UFC decide on their current "cast" that runs the shows. i actually think Luke Thomas and Anthony Smith should be permanent show hosts. Anthony could anchor cards with that voice.
@CompleteProducer84
@CompleteProducer84 Жыл бұрын
@@Ritalie I’m happy to hear you feel the same way. I think he could very well “catch on” and move up the ranks if he can start commentating some of the smaller cards in other counties (as he mentioned in this interview), and eventually do some bigger cards. And yeah I’d love to see him and Luke together!
@worduser899
@worduser899 Жыл бұрын
I love how he mostly keeps eye contact with whoever asked him a question that he is answering. I'm not deep into the episode, but I keep waiting for him to fall back to mostly talking to Luke - because they're bros or whatever - even when Brian asked him something, but he adjusts his position and makes sure to look at Brian most of the time during the answer. He's a total natural at doing different types of media.

I really like Anthony's laid back style on the mic and in front of the camera. It's a breath of fresh air in an industry full of really bad hype men. I could very easily see a place for him ring side. Hope he makes it there some day. His style is very well suited for podcasting too.

He has the best broadcast voice in all of MMA. Luke Thomas also has an outstanding broadcast voice. I'd love to see Luke Thomas and Anthony Smith running an entire Pay Per View UFC card. I like Anik, but I think Anthony and Luke Thomas both have rare 1 in a million TV broadcast voices.

Ehhh I don’t agree with a lot he said. We’ve seen Jones coach, and also adapt mid fight. So to say the iq or whatever else is a lil out there. Then he said “Jones isn’t as strong”…Jones literally rag dolled and manhandled him, picked him up and slammed him. He also said “Jones isn’t that good”, “if we were boxing I’d beat him”…yeah ok Anthony lol. Jones out struck him 238 to 45…am I missing something here? You really gotta take what he said with a grain of salt. Another thing you gotta think about, if his IQ was really Wink…why is Jones the only undefeated or consistent champ out of that gym? One thing he did leave out is Jones best asset is his defense.
@saadx7724
@saadx7724 Жыл бұрын
@@jaxon7628 You're a fanboy we get it, but i'll take the opinion of a high level fighter who has been there with Jones and extensively studied him who also happens to have a great mind for the sport is a great analyst and comes across as a very genuine person, over what some random biased fan says on the internet. While Jones is a great of the sport the truth is Jones' legacy is very overrated, he dominated a thin division full mostly of aging legends and guys who at some point competed at MW (a division 20 POUNDS below LHW) over whom he had huge physical advantages. He also definitely lost the Reyes fight according to all the great minds in the sport, and arguably lost to Gus and Santos. That's without even mentioning his blatant PED use. So Anthony saying that makes perfect sense to me, and despite all that i still think Jones is a really great fighter and deserves credit, but not nearly as much as he gets. Just my opinion.
