I remember playing this demo mission at either an EB games or GameStop at a mall with my best friend when I was like 10 years old. I remember how magical it was! Storming the beaches with the marines was epic.

I had the Xbox demo disc instead. My childhood friend and I were broke and the only console we had was a Xbox original, the only games we had were the Xbox demos and one of them so happened to have that demo on there. (Forget which number but I think it had jet set radio)I remember playing CO OP and when we beat the demo we got super hyped for that ending. The nostalgia is hard with this video.

Halo Demo was the goat. Blood Gulch Rockets only, snipers pistols, reversing backwards to get out on top of the cliff and I can't forget the flamethrower to troll.

My favorite thing about the PC port was the addition of the flamethrower. While not heavy on damage, it would literally flood your screen with pixels of fiery death.

Halo actually has deeper roots to a game called Marathon back on DOS PC systems. If you go and play Marathon it's basically the proto Halo. It's much more 'out there' than Halo with it's lore which can be a good thing. Good friend of mine is one of few people I know who've played that franchise but it's one of his favorite franchises of all time, so there's that. I recommend it if you like old DOS games and Halo's roots.

God I remember when I got the demo and enjoyed it....then a friend of mine got a ripped copy of the full game and we would play it in the school library....until they pretty much banned the use of USB (where we had the game on) in the library.

Anthony. You're not old. To be an old gamer, your first home computer had to have the entire game code typed in manually by yourself from the pages of a magazine, in basic code. you have to be able to remember the launch of the Atari 2600 to be an old gamer

I do agree that the original graphics just have a certain charm that the remastered graphics lack somehow (which are kind of dated again already because this was released years ago on console, by now it could use another remaster to bring it back up-to-date). I expected to play with the new graphics and occasionally look back at the old stuff and laugh about how shitty it looked back then and how my nostalgia goggles were wrong... but i'm doing the exact opposite, playing with the old graphics because it 100% triggers that nostalgia and atmosphere while the remastered stuff just seems, sloppy in many places and not even good enough to compete with average current games, maybe 5 years ago those graphics were good enough, but sure as hell not now. Play the Halo level in Forza Horizon 4 and then compare to this, night and day difference in quality man. Even the freaking Halo Ring in the Skybox looks just WRONG, they modernized it but didn't get the look&feel right.
