I feel that when the little came out, I think it was Nin (or another grown alter) saying ‘there’s somebody else here I’m sorry’ being co-con based on the voice in that moment. And I think it may have been her being unable to come to full consciousness. And weather it was or it wasn’t it’s just such a different way to live and I feel for all of them in all three of the systems within the video. And gosh the little was so precious.

@IamTalathia4 жыл бұрын
I saw this got a few likes and a heart from Anthony and I kinda teared up a bit. Because in my head, a few of my alters (including the one typing this) look like monsters from movies or books. A big wolf- like creature(me) who stands in front of a bunch of scared little kids. Protecting them from the 'real' monsters in this world. And sometimes the real monsters are family members, best friends, teachers, people from church- all from the places you're taught to trust and you're taught that are safe. All taking the forms of innocent looking humans. A lot of what was said in these interviews echos my own experiences. And even I have my own protector and caretaker who 'looks' like a monster. (He looks like Scorpion cat man he goes by Aubrey). People see artwork I've drawn of me and my own protector and think I'm drawing monsters- and I think to myself. No no, we're the ones looking after the scared kids in here! We'd never hurt anyone, we're here to keep the first alters- and the oldest ones, because the oldest alters are always the children- they've been here the longest! At least with my own system. The kids remember everything, the things I can't remember. Because I can't look that far back, Because Aubrey and I have to work and make a home for them where they're safe. Thank you for doing this interview Anthony. I don't dare tell people in real life about this, but hopefully this interview will shed some light on the subject and more people will understand.

@kaifisshhhАй бұрын
for anyone wondering, the difference in presentation while switching between nin and the redwoods is an example of covert vs overt presentation of DID. pretty self explanatory, but majority of systems are covert, meaning you may sit across from them and not even realize a switch happened, because they behave similarly externally. overt means alters showcase externally obvious and distinct personalities. systems can change between being generally covert to overt and vice versa, depending on the system’s perceived needs for survival

@xzscvbnm11 күн бұрын
These comments are sad. This is accurate, as someone diagnosed with OSDD-1b by a licensed therapist after multiple sessions. Ours is less obvious because we try to maintain a consistent outward personality and vocal tone, because we still live at home with the people that caused us to develop the disorder. It's harder for some of us than others. Dave's voice always drops subconsciously, Toby has to fight an English accent constantly, Hex's voice pitches up into the stratosphere, Aurum has to make himself socialize- we're all different people pretending to be one. And some of us do and don't wanna keep doing that, but the problem is that *all* of us don't have a choice, for our own safety. PS: Psychologists usually are the ones (and often are the chief leaders of) diagnosing someone, in both the United States and England. They can make a diagnosis after *any* given length of time they see fit to create an accurate profile of someone's conditions. There isn't a minimum evaluation time frame, to my knowledge. Some people may have longer or shorter evaluations, each professional is different. (Like c'mon it's like thinking every professional in a field is a faceless blond guy in a white lab coat named Dr. Doctor or something, and that they all live in Hospitalandia.)
@SnazzyArcade11 күн бұрын
@@xzscvbnm No. Psychologists are not doctors and cannot diagnose ANY condition, in ANY country. Psychiatrists are the only professionals who can diagnose and prescribe for severe (aka non-depression and anxiety, which by the way, psychologists also CANNOT diagnose) mental illnesses. Saying a psychologist can diagnose a severe mental illness is like saying a physiotherapist can diagnose a fracture, they literally can't. Furthermore, she wasn't even a client of this guy-they literally just met at a convention! NO psychiatrist would diagnose someone with something as serious as DID, similar to how they're not going to diagnose someone with schizophrenia, bipolar, etc. before taking a RIGOROUS look at potential trauma, symptoms, how they're functioning in their day-to-day life, evaluations, etc. It'd be medically negligent to do otherwise.

@Grayson Land First and formost, thank you for sharing your story, I know it could feel very exposed to share a part of your life like that. However, I think your story could really help some people, like me, so thank you. Your experience wth ASPD made me realise I might suffer from ASPD myself. I never knew what might be wrong with me, but I've always known that either there is something wrong with me or I am just a bad person (,like one of those really boring villains who does bad thing simply because they are bad). I am extremely manipulative and I really want to be "better than that". However, at this point, manipulation is basically on autopilot: I say I don't want to do it but I do it anyway. I'm unsure whether to get help because I don't think I want to admit to anyone irl that I am a "bad" person. I have dip my toes into the pool before, going to a counsellor, because I wanted to change. But I end up making up other issues because I just couldnt get over the fact that I was gonna expose myself to someone irl that I do bad stuff to people, it's illogical and it's actually really scary. But my current state is really exhausting because a large part of me thinks I need to change and I need to be a better person, but there is also another part of me just don't see the point of changing. It doesn't really hurt me, a lot of times it doesn't really hurt anyone (they don't think they are being exploited, I make sure that they think they are the ones who wanted to offer me, their friend, the "help", they think they are doing a good thing, they feel good, I get what I want out of it, there is no tangible downside to it). just saying that alone makes me think I am a bad person and maybe I should change -- and the cycle continue. I want this feeling to end. This exhuasing, confusing and scary feeling. I wish your comment can be the answer to my confusion. But I know it isn't. I will have to get over myself and get real help eventually. As of now I don't think I am ready...

same, at times, I’ve wanted DID or a tulpa. I wish I had someone to hang out with, like a twin. I wanted someone to be in love with me and tried to create a tulpa at the beginning of my freshman year of high school. What first got me into DID was Total Drama: Revenge of the Island where a character named Mike has DID and wants to keep it a secret from the girl he likes but I thought all “personas” (I’m using this word instead of personalities for my finger’s sake) had a trigger. For example, Mike would switch to Vito when he took off his shirt, Manitoba Smith when wearing a certain type of hat, Chester when he’s annoyed, and Svetlana when certain audio cues were given (like “And coming up is 3-time Olympic gold medalist...”). He would also signal his switches with a gasp for air.

I started watching your episodes not long ago and appreciate how you can give people voices about their difficulties. I myself have my own health issues that not many people my age get diagnosed with and it’s not commonly recognized. When I first started seeking help I went through a few doctors thinking a was faking it. Videos like this make me thankful
