The fact they didn’t use Sonic the Hedgehog as a reference for how to do a toon style hedgehog says it all, like he was literally based off Mickey and Felix the Cat!

Why would they? Sonic, even in his 90s golden age was always stylistically unique. It's nowhere near Toontown standards, though I suppose it would serve as a guide for where the quills would be in 3D space.

I wonder if ttcc still remembers that they said that team barnyard toons will be added, just later. Since it lost to team outback I can understand if they forgot, especially with the upcoming new cogs. Still... really wanted sheep and cow toons.

@@Arevulis Tbh I could see them releasing the new toon parts and as a surprise, the barnyard toons arrive along with them. Probably not but I really wish we got the cow, chicken and sheep. They were part of toontown longer than even the crocodille or deer; albiet unused. That and they reminds me of Garfield and friends a lot :D

⁠@@ArevulisDespite the customization, I believe they will still have essentially premade settings for Toons, so you can just have instantly made basic animals. It’s very possible to still get barnyard toons as a premade setting.

Came here expecting i would be disagreeing, ended up agreeing with pretty much everything. DOGS RULE!!! think dogs are the only ones with animated ears, which is pretty cool, and they also have the best voice.

I actually think the Corporate Clash design of the mouse is really good, really the only thing holding it back is the fact that most of the options for it makes them look like they have no chin. And while different, i do prefer the Corporate Clash ears for horses as well, they just look more natural and distinctive for what a horse should look like. (Not saying that having just black lines is bad either since thats what older Disney cartoons did, but come on) Other than that though, most of the overall designs for them all have been perfected. If anything, its not the looks that bother me, it’s the voices. *Most* of them sound great and how you’s want to expect them to, and I completely agree that the TTCC deer sounds better than the TTR one with the more sarcastic sounding voice, but there are rare exceptions to me where some of them just don’t fit like the beaver and armadilo ones. I also like the crocodile voices in TTR more than the alligator ones in TTCC since those crocodiles actually sound more like voices, whilst the allogators we cirrently have are just snarls. Not bad per say, I just like the extra personality more. I’m kinda mixed on which models of the croc or gstor I like better though, I like them both. I wish the croc would also get added into Corporate Clash for more options, but I’d understand if it wouldn’t happen anytime soon since it would give iff the bad impression if "stealing", amd I’d much rather see them implememt scrapped toons like the mentioned new ODS cow or something more unique like the kiwi or koala. Maybe stuff like chipmunks, squirrels, elephants, and parrots could work after all. But yeah for the most part, Corporate Clash has currently almost perfected all the toon species that they have, and that’s impressive considering how much there is to choose from, not just with the newer ones but also all the older ones getting an upgrade. They really did do a good job trying to translate the original art style with more detailed models. (Then again almost everything in Corporate Clash is godly at this point, so I can’t say I’m too shocked about that in particular. It’s the best server so far imho, what do you expect? It’s basically the Donkey Kong 94 of TTO at this point in terms of both being a full blown remake and a sequel at the same time) Can’t go wrong with TTR though even if it’s lacking, the few new things they do add for it can be kinda neat too, even with the only two new species being from over 5 years ago.

I’ve got a couple questions.. All I’ve known about until last night is the original ToonTown from my childhood, and then the modern Rewritten, but now I’m hearing about all these other versions like Clash and Altis (and more?).. So what are all the versions, and which one should I actually spend my time playing? Which is the best? Also, is the goat species ever going to be added? I really wished it would’ve been added during the election, and then I saw someone on Twitter make a beautiful 3D model for it, but to my knowledge it’s still not playable in any of the versions of this game. Lastly, what were all the extra species on the bleachers in that short clip you showed, and where/when will they be added? It looked like there were dragons and sharks, among other things. Very cool!

Sorry for replying half a year later, but I'll try to answer them. There's been a lot of toontown servers over the years, but most of them either died out at some point, or still exist but don't have that big a playerbase, making progressing kind of difficult at times. I'm not extremely familiar with most of them, but I can tell you that Altis was basically Clash version 1, which got shut down and rebranded for a variety of reasons I won't go into, because it's a rabbit hole. As for which is the best... that's very much a preference thing.

The og design for cats would def be my number one because well.. I’m biased. But also because my first ever toon was a cat, and while his design was no where near close to the colors of my irl cat, Bambi, at the time, I still made him as a reference to her (however his name was based off of the fact that I loved scooters lmao). Although Bambi has been gone for a few years now, Scooter still lives on to this day as both a character in ToonTown, and as my own OC that I’ve made a whole story and world for
