Feeling proud of these ladies is a common side effect watching them perform their craft, even without daughters or kids in general. It's not just their music, it's the whole story behind it. For this event they were the only band that wasn't nominated for an award, played everything live and nailed both of their songs in one take where three were allowed. Reminding MTV what the M stands for was the mission and they definitely succeeded at that!

That feeling of fatherly pride only gets stronger when you go back and look at their early days. Three kids doing excellent covers of Sabbath, Metallica, etc. Three kids who wrote XXI Century Blood and Queen of the Murder scene. Not only two amazing albums with nary a dud song on them but for their 2nd album they decided "hey lets do a frigging concept album" while the youngest was 12. From tiny kids, some with instruments that looked too big for them to now, its an incredible journey

The Warning will never block your reaction. They post video for people to watch and review. The drummer wrote that lyric: "I'm not in danger, I'm the danger." Dany the guitar player had the music to the song and Pau the drummer says, "Let me write something to go with that rift."

I get the dad thing and feeling proud. I'm old enough to be their grandfather and I feel proud of them. Seeing them grow up and learning their craft, but also catching glimpses of their genuine personalities persuades me to hope for the best for them. Live performance is always their strength but for this show Dany just amps up her intensity like she's channeling Springsteen's "last chance power drive" from "Born To Run". The other performers on this stage at the VMAs were Renee Rapp and Kaliii, and most of the crowd was familiar with those two but not with The Warning. So TW took the challenge and just steamrolled them.

Some of this you may already be aware of and I apologize if it's redundant, but can't hurt to review! I loved your reaction! This is a power trio of Mexican sisters. They just celebrated their 10th anniversary as a band, and currently are only in their late teens and early twenties. They started in grade school! They came onto the worldwide scene with their version of Metallica's Enter Sandman when they were only 14, 12, and 9! That KZbin video went viral and was just the beginning of what was to come. Time to learn the girls' names! Dany is the lead singer and guitarist, age 24. Pau is drummer and can be second lead singer, also does backups, age 22. Ale is the bassist and backup singer, age 19. All three also play piano as they are classically trained! Their full names are Daniela, Paulina, and Alejandra Villarreal. Many of us became hooked on the Warning with their two Tedx performances in 2016 and 2017. For further reactions, I would also use the Teatro Metropolitan 2022 concert. It was professionally recorded so the audio and video were phenomenal. There are many of their best songs in that concert. And more currently some new ones from their coming 4th album in June. Being Gen x, I have been a metal/hard rock fan my whole life. I feared that hard rock was dead for awhile. With bands like The Warning and Band Maid, I am more hopeful. Just my generation got inspiration from Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and The Who, you can tell they were inspired by thrash metal and 90s grunge and alt rock.

I saw Skillet live back in March '24 when I was at Knotfest in Melbourne Australia. Skillet was fantaistic. In al 12 bands, 12 hours, it was amazing lineup too! Last 3 were Halestorm, Disturbed, and Pantera. THAT was a metal festival.

I’m so glad you recognized the Breaking Bad reference, I’ve been watching 100’s of reactions to this song and no one, no one has recognized the Walter White (Heisenberg) quote. It’s funny you’d think more people would recognize it because the show was so popular. I recognized it the first time I heard the song, lol. As you get to know The Warning more you will have to find out that they has various styles of rock but they are invariably pure rock!! And I continue to reaffirm my humble but very own opinion that with its structure, its cuts, transitions, rhythm changes, modulations, choruses, pre-choruses, drum attacks, its endings… All of this is masterful. The great beauty of their art is in its simplicity but all of this always seems to be at the right time and in the right way, bordering on perfection and predominating sophistication. There could always be other options, but the ones they chose seem to be the exact ones to create a masterpiece of art. Also impregnating everything with a natural touch of inevitable sensuality that only adds improvement. Each of its pieces can be very different, but always with all the TW flavor. It’s very clear that these sisters have no limits. They have that gift that only belongs to the geniuses that appear among us every certain period of time. This is the youngest veteran band in the rock world. They are the queens of the hook, the riff, the contagious rhythms, the catchy melodies, the sublime voices, the unbeatable harmonies and the ambiguous but deep and powerful messages. And this happens song after song… INCREDIBLE!! The new masters of rock: The warning. The fact that your favorite TW song is the last one you have heard is the most usual and common thing that will happen to you with these genius girls. Another "effect" is that every time you repeatedly listen to one of their creations, you will discover details in them that embellish and sublimate them, making you like them more and more. I call these "effects" or "phenomena" the "TW Syndrome." For now I'm subscribing to your channel because I hope to see many reactions from you to my favorite band of all time. I like how you mentioned that you feel proud of them. I see a lot of people say that in the comments to their videos. I felt that way when I first found them 5 or 6 months ago, even before I saw videos of them playing as children. Anyway, this song is a big f-u to record labels who were willing to sign them but only if they would make changes that they weren’t willing to make. They were eventually signed by a company (Lava) who allowed them to retain creative control of their music. They showed other artists that you don’t have to sell yourself out to get signed and it is possible to succeed while maintaining your artistic integrity. Hence, they aren’t in danger, they’re the danger!
