Finally someone that explains it as it should be explained, not simply modifying their own pictures without teaching why they are doing what. THANK YOU DEARLY!!
@LockhartCrimeFamily-sv5yq2 ай бұрын
1. Correct the exposure - ensure the photo’s brightness is as it should be. Set the brightness of your photo If you can, it's always best if you can nail your exposure in camera You can also use a histogram to better gauge your photo (try to keep it balanced) 2. Dynamic range - control the dynamic range by adjusting the shadows and highlights. Adjust the shadows and highlights Make sure you have details in your shadows and details in your highlights. Avoid your photos from being blown out. Try to strike a balance between keeping the picture looking natural and where you want the attention focused in the photo 3. Contrast - add or decrease contrast depending on the look you’re going for. Color- Use colors from opposite sides of the colour wheel, like blue and orange or red and green to create vibrant, eye catching compositions. Value- Use light and dark values to create depth, dimension and focal points. Texture- Combine rough and smooth textures or matte and glossy surfaces, to create visual tension and interest Shape - Combine organic and geometric shapes, or mix angular and curvilinear forms , to create balance and harmony Size contrast- Use varying sizes of elements to establish visual hierarch and draw attention to specific areas. 4. Color balance - Make sure the colours are accurate - or deliberately get creative. Colors are representative of what they should actually be. 5:. Colour Saturation - increase the vibrancy of the colours or mute them for a subtler palette. How vivid and strong the colors are? Get your saturation on point Make sure it's not too much or muted. You use your gut. 6. Crop - Consider cropping for a better composition, and straighten your horizon line. Cut out too much negative space. Avoid getting lost in the frame. Rotate your crop in order to center your images. PAY Attention to the Rule of Thirds if it applies to what you're looking to do. 7. Fine details - Sharpen your photos and reduce unwanted noise. Push enchaning filters to 100 and then bring it down to the desired results 8. Add your style - Try different LUTs for an easy way to add a look / style to your photo. Get creative and experiment with LUTS and filters 9. Export / Save - Export your edited photo ready to share with the world. JPEG and PNG Use sRGB for the color space

HUGE APPRECIATION! I haven't touched a camera for 30yrs. Kids grown up-time for me! Got a new Canon 77D, new MAC, joined a club, been out with a friend taking rock gig photos. Now to editing. Trouble is I'm dyslexic & other programs just don't work with my 'faulty' brain. I'm definitely downloading luminar, seem so much more intuitive. You're by far the BEST teacher in the Tube. I so appreciate you giving your time to do this. May I also say what an amazing Dad you are! Most of us could only wish for a father like you! Keep up the excellent work, it'll pay off in the long run. My kids are still with me age 26 & 27yrs. Maybe I've done too much.....🤣 okay off to download & have a go! Have a wonderful Christmas!

Great video, clear and very helpful thank you for sharing this. I am planning to purchase Luminar, but know it’s not an can do all program, do you have any software recommendations for doing focus stacking and adding a watermark?
@AnthonyTurnham4 жыл бұрын
Hi EJ! Yeah, it's a great piece of software, especially considering the price but you're right. As discerning photographers we always want more! Haha :) Luminar can do watermarking, you just bring in your watermark as a layer and adjust the opacity. For focus stacking it has to Photoshop if you want it automated. If you've just got a few different distances to blend though you could feasibly do it in Luminar using 3 layers (or whatever you have) and just use the mask option to blend them together... Always an option :)

I’m not a photographer, and have no designs of becoming one. I would like the pics I share on Facebook & Instagram to look good, though. My main objective when I began a photo editing search was in being able to either black out, or blur out the background in some photos. As you didn’t address that, I’m assuming it’s not an option with this software, or is it a more advanced technique covered in another video?

Hi Rennagayle, since I did this video the newer version bit.ly/Luminar-NEO has added a background selection and blur background tool.
