I don't know what's going on with Nuclear Blast these days.. still a solid label but lots of bands jumping ship to Napalm. Definitely bending the fans over indeed, the 80’s thrash sound is what I like as well, those Anthrax albums definitely look better than the Megaforce ones do, love the splattering vinyl as well, all bands and labels seem to be gouging us fans, I just need the ritual and I am good, cool video buddy, have a pop and enjoy those Anthrax albums.

Sound of White Noise is definitely one of my most favorite albums from them. And is my most favorite album with John Bush on vocals. Great reissues there Darcy 👍take care brother.🍻🤘

Just the fact that the remasters are louder is probably enough for me to buy them. Hitting shuffle on my "Best of Testament" playlist and cranking the volume just so I can hear Raging Waters, only to have a near-hear attack when the next track comes on and it's Fall of Sipledome or something is super unpleasant. 😅

Yeah I remember you video on those previous Anthrax reissues. Glad they've got some decent ones available now. Yeah those Testament albums are priced too high. Even with inflation and the cost increase of raw materials it's still too much to be charging. I'm sure people will still buy them though.

As for the Testament ones, I agree that the price is ridiculous, and I'm not impressed with the changes to the artwork. Being a similar age to you, it's the production of the originals that makes them so good to me. 🤘

I bought an original pressing of The New Order for 20 euros (about 20 dollars) a couple of years ago, it seems that the prices have gone a bit up but still you can get a near mint original for the same price than the newest repress. The biggest difference I see is that the original had a glossy art and the new ones seem to be with matte finish? And the skull on the original one is way less visible, you barely even see it without proper lighting.

The New Order remastered (inc shipping) will cost me £58 (CAD 101.57) here in the UK. I can't justify spending that on an album. I have the originals, i'm ok with those. remastered or just made louder.....

I think that recent Kreator box set with 2 albums in and mask might be the start of a new campaign. Instead of giving away too many albums at once in a box set they can do much smaller bundles but pad them out with something else that fans will want. I.E. The Violent Mind Mask and it's not much cheaper than the guillotine box. They are likely to have done a deal with the manufacturer for a series of things rather than just that 1 Kreator box. That's where I think Testament might be going. If you think about it, now with Testament buying back the rights the "Atlantic Years" is irrelevant now. They've possibly shelled out a bit of cash for those rights.

Those two steamhammer albums are the last studio ones they could release in a box set, they weren't big sellers so putting them in one box was a good idea. They're not that good either, i am speaking as a massive Kreator fan here. Everything after Hordes of chaos is on Nuclear Blast... Live Kreation (which they re-released in 2017 as a 3 LP + 2CD set) & At The Pulse Of Kapitulation - Live In East Berlin (CD/DVD) are the only other releases on steamhammer, so in theory they could be put together in a LP/CD/DVD box I suppose. Kreator have pretty much released nigh on everything in a box set now, their nuclear blast stuff comes out in bloody hundreds of different box sets on release HaHa!!

I wish these bands/labels would concentrate on releasing new material as opposed to releasing and reissuing archival releases. Archival releases are big business now though and the labels know fans will buy them. Another big issue I have with these reissues, where are the CD reissues? All this stuff is only being reissued and re released on vinyl now. People still buy CDs and they would sell since a lot of these albums are hard to find on cd, are out of print or you need to find them used. I like your Overkill shirt.

I just bought the reissue of the New Order a couple of months ago and yes I found out recently that they are coming out with a remaster edition. i will pass on that, I have a copy of the legacy which i found a few years ago. I do have Practice what you preach original pressing, a friend found it for me for $3 at a Savers discount store. I do plan on buying the reissue of Practice once it gets released, i got to have 2 copies of an awesome album like that. I got the ritual and souls of black on vinyl.

That's cool Anthrax are reissuing those 90's albums, some of them are tough to get. The John Bush albums I need to check out. That's a bit strange Testament are releasing remastered versions of The Legacy and New Order so soon after reissuing them! I don't get it, and that price is ridiculous! I did hear those "remaster" tracks the other day, I didn't take real notice as I thought they were for the reissues. I didn't even notice they were remastered because they sounded exactly the same as the original. I don't know if you can blame the band for this, I wouldn't want to as I love the band, but it's very odd. I have the original CD boxset and I'm happy to keep that, I don't need reissues or remasters because I'm fine with what I have. That set was a very cheap price too!

I skipped on the April Testament releases because they looks terrible and I have other pressings. However, I did splurge for the 2 remasters just to see... if I like them enough I'll get the others if they will come out. You are right... the price is VERY steep!

This is why I hunt down OGs instead of buying multiple reissues now when one sounds or is remastered better than the other reissue. Collectors who don’t care and have to own everything will grab them but sensible collectors know it’s a fraud. You made a smart move returning those earlier Anthrax bootlegs or unofficial releases

Hey Darcy, I agree with you all the way on this one and being a big Testament fan it's disappointing to see this happening, but you know, record labels being greedy once again. I havne't been collecting vinyl for that long but it's a straight up pass for me. I listened to the remasters on youtube and can hear a slight difference in quality but I'm not a fan of the newer artwork of either album and it's a big overreach by the label. I missed out with the reissue of the New Order unfortunately so I'll just shop round for an OG and hope I get lucky. I picked up the Music on Vinyl reissue of The Legacy a while back and hoped they would do one for the New Order too. I saw the Anthrax reissues on Mr Boulder's channel and they look awesome!!!! Nuclear Blast are dead to me anyway, they won´t get a single Penny from me anymore. That started already with the Cavalera rerecordings and them charging 40 Euro per LP. I thought about getting the "Stomp" album on vinyl... I slept a night over it and realized I only listen to the album in the bathtub or in the car, so no need to get it anyway.

Disappointed there is no CD version on the Testament remasters, the way they were talking them up a year ago there was going to be lots of extra material on them and on all formats. But there's no CD version or bonus material so I'll be avoiding them. It's a shame, I was looking forward to getting them all and getting a sound upgrade on their first 5 albums forever. The Anthrax ones do look cool though. I really wish someone would remaster and reissue Fistful Of Metal, what's been available on that album for decades has not sounded very good.

Yeah the Testament reissues are pretty rough on the cover art. Was disappointed when I saw that. I am probably going to have to settle and order the remaster of The New Order. I missed out on the april reissue and can't find it anywhere. Not a fan of the 50$ price on it but other copies are selling for much more.

I love your channel but to be honest I disagree with your rant on the Testament vinyls. Bands don’t make that much money these days from making/releasing music and no one is forced to buy any of all the different versions. Thus, I think it is great that people have options on which version to buy and how to support the band. I wish they released both versions at the same time so that way fans would had an immediate choice. But still, they are not forcing anyone to depart from their money. On my side of the pond, I have the desire and means to get both versions of each vinyl and I’m grateful for the opportunity to do so.

Those Testament remasters are disgusting. Shit covers. These thrash metal reissues from most 80's thrash bands are crap quality, crappy sounding & over priced. Do yourself a favour, same your money & just buy originals. Yes they are pricey but you get the product as originally intended. Buy the time you buy all these crappy reissues, your spending the same as buying an original. Postage costs are insane.
