In my world , its either Joey Belladonna or John Bush as Anthrax singer . They are both great and neither are better than the other .

Interesting that people don't like the production. Sounds like the band live in the room with you. Maybe I'm old-school, but I dig the lack of gloss. Plus if you really need it studio-perfect, listen to the original. Rather have it raw myself; metal was never supposed to be pretty.
@Scott-nr2ji2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I prefer more raw mixes of music myself. I used to politely ask people to produce music I made myself on amateur recordings/demos to make it dry and take the gloss off they put on that wasn't needed

I never heard the original Joey versions of these songs before hearing the re-recorded ones with John Bush, so to my ears, Bush’s versions are the definitive versions. Listening to Joey singing these without any balls, just sounds wrong to my ears. John brings his weighty voice, and most importantly, emotion in his delivery. John Bush Anthrax all the way for me!
@drunk2472 жыл бұрын
So dig this.... When POT first came out,it kinda freaked people out cuz Joey was singing in a lower register. I was a huge fan then and i didnt see John Bush coming. I'd actually prefer Bush singing any song from POT to Joey. Bush's voice would be perfect for it! His "Got the Time" is way cooler than Joeys'

I love Joey, but the fact of the matter is, John could sing all of Joey's songs. Joey can't really sing John's songs. Joey especially in the 80s was great. But John was super underrated, and was a fantastic frontman for Anthrax. I'm glad the "Bush years" happened. Wish they'd lasted longer, actually.

@@imarvideos Metal isn't about awards, that's hollywood bullshit. Metal is about the fans, snd the fans decide if you are successful or not. After Joey got fired because he couldn't maintain his performance ability, everyone thought Anthrax was done, John Bush brought them back ROARING, with one of the best albums in their entire catalog, on the first go. Anyone who saw the vid for Only and wasn't just blown the fuck away, are just simp fanboys. Both vocalists have their moments to shine, but to me John is the better vocalist, and songwriter, and always will be.

John isnt even in the same league as Joey especially with this song..This is one of Joeys best Vocal songs too!! Just my opinion. Been a huge Anthrax fan since Spreading the disease came out and have seen them probably about 30 times . Never with Bush tho..

Rich Canamar I agree, he did a great job with Armored Saint, but he is just wrong for Anthrax. The band completely lost their identity and everything that was original about them with Bush, and become just another average metal band. During his years the band was basically dead. Firing Belladona was the worst decision, but thankfully he is back and they kick ass again.
