@@AdamGotheridge Anthrax is a complicated band. I'm a HUGE fan... yet i HATE every one of their records except the pop-thrash masterpiece "Spreading The Disease" and the catchy speed metal of "WORSHIP MUSIC". The rest is all uninspired. (Many metalheads love Among The Living etc, but I find that stuff WEAK. Yeah, it's faster and crunchier... but the SONGWRITING STINKS.)

The contrast of the woof and chunk of Anthrax’s music and Joey’s melodic vocals are what makes Anthrax unique. Always my favorite of the classic “thrash” bands, and forever one of my favorite bands overall.

ANTHRAX brought some needed fun 🤪 to Thrash Metal scene. They didn’t take themselves too serious and that was refreshing, New York 🏴‍☠️🗽style! The band is NOT the same without Dan Spitz on Guitar 🎸 !

I can't get enough of these interviews, Mitch is such a gracious host, asking great questions and actually listening without ever talking over or interupting a guest.This interview series is knocking it out of the park! I still remember the first I heard Anthrax back in the 80's, man that was huge turning point for me and music interest. They are still one of my favorite bands to listen too, awesome to see them still doing it!

I disagree that rock is NOT dead. (It's no longer a CULTURAL FORCE. No new bands are doing new things. IT's DEAD. It was killed by the GOP's iHeartRadio. Greta Van Fleet are RETRO. Not pushing rock FORWARD.) Rock was a FORCE from day one. Popular CULTURE. THat's no longer the case.

@dumpygoodness4086
@dumpygoodness4086 5 жыл бұрын
@@tarunkumaar625 IN FACT, Rock was MURDERED intentionally, by Amerikkka's Repugnicans. (EX: they bought up most rock stations, after W Bush de-regulated media. The GOP then tried to KILL rock music, b/c it TEACHES YOUNG PEOPLE TO REBEL.) (EX: Rolling Stone magazine STOPPED writing about NEW rock bands who were pushing rock forward, b/c they're total PAY-TO-PLAY (Payola) now.) THAT is the SOLE reason there's no NEXT Nirvana or NEXT Rage against or NEXT Zep, or NEXT Pink Floyd. (No, Greta Van Fleet is NOT the NEXT zep. They are retro.) LOTS of genius rock bands out there who are SUPERIOR to my faves (Zep, Floyd, Sabbath, YES, et al)... but the PRESS and RADIO are blocking them all.
@marshallzingkhai889
@marshallzingkhai889 5 жыл бұрын
@Richard Skipper The big 4 has more to do with pioneering and influence of the band.Anthrax were one of the earliest band among the thrash bands to release a thrash albu.And which band is better than which is highly a personal taste...but in terms of fanbase Anthrax has more fans than Testament and Sepultura.Also Pantera is not a thrash metal band.They are considered as groove.Even Sepultura is sometimes labelled as a groove metal band.

Starting at 23:05 they all have hands down the best take on the "rock is dead" debate, and I've been saying the same thing for years now. Just because there's all these other genres out here that are more popular doesn't mean that rock bands just stopped existing. Some brilliant rock music has been released within the last decade, and those that make that claim are just ignoring all that.

It’s Phenomenal the quantum leap that was taken between Neil Turbins version of soldiers of metal and Joeys version which was much more melodious and straightforward and redefined.I remember seeing Anthrax at the Roseland in New York with Metallica and John Bushes first band Armored Saint which had compromised acoustics due to all the curtains they had.I don’t think Metallica got a sound check because cliff kept raising his thumb up indicating that he couldn’t hear himself to turn it up!

Scott ad Charlie have always been kinda shitty towards Joey. They never hang out with him or care about his opinion. It was purely business getting him back in the band, same as it was when they booted him out. Charlie and Scott have always been all about the money. Same reason S.O.D is gone, ask Billy Milano, he'll tell you. They're lucky to have Joey. I love Anthrax, but Scott and Charlie are pretty ruthless in a lot of ways.
