Right there with you man, for me the only Anthrax (save for a small handful of songs) is Bush era Anthrax (hehe, sounds funny given our ex-presidents who shared the same last name :P) and Sound of White Noise is one of my favorite albums of all time (and I count Poison My Eyes as a sort of 'hidden'/'bonus' or '12th' track for that album even though it was from the Last Action Hero soundtrack due to the similar sound and the fact that it was recorded at the same studio during the same sessions as the main album if I recall correctly), and while I wasn't quite as enthusiastic about Stomp 442 as a whole, it does include some of my favorite Anthrax songs of all time (Nothing and Bare in particular for me) and I at least like every song on the album; I just don't love every song as I did the whole of Sound of White Noise. We've Come for You All and The Threat Is Real were decent as well and definitely had some standout tracks for me and I'm certain that if he'd have continued with the band, I would have more Anthrax albums on my shelf without a doubt.

I was an Anthrax fan since 1988 and I was not disappointed with "The Sound of White Noise" to say the very least! It's so relatable to me as a dude-- assuming that "Potter's Field" is about a mother or maybe an older EX-sister-- to the extreme of the person being a psycho killer. It's obvious that John is not that way and neither am I. But that is poetry / awesome lyrics that describe exactly how I felt when my so-called females of my family of origin came at me with knives in my middle age (after my mom doing the occasional bad number on me as a kid growing up.. "you're not allowed to grow your hair out!" etc.) Your lyrics have really helped me get through tough times the last few years at the age of 50. Thank you so much, Mr John Bush for expanding the Anthrax experience!

I love John Bush. I am old school Anthrax fan but got into the Bush stuff in about 2000. I really got into supporting them, because they were struggling (Vol 8 disappeared because of the label tanking, etc.). Charlie and Scott posted weekly on their old website - direct communication with fans. I felt they were very down to earth. I was really into WCFYA and tried to drum up support with street team materials. They were very positive about it. All the activity afterward seemed like positive momentum. Then, suddenly, the reunion, all the positivity around WCFYA, MoMD, GoTE, gone, new website, no more Alpha Mails or Blast Beats. Soured me on them for years.

All Hail the Armored Saint himself, John Bush!!! I got my hands on a cassette (CD's didn't even exist !) of "March of the Saint" back in 1984 and was blown away! (Holy shit he's been kicking ass on stage for nearly 35 years!! Now that is the fucking very definition of OLD school!) Regarding his years with Anthrax - in my mind, he was always The Greater of Two Evils!! He took their "Sound of White Noise" into some really unexpected sonic territories, and I was hooked like a crack baby! Stomp 442, Vol.8 The Threat is Real, We've Come For You All, Music of Mass Destruction....dude, I still fucking love them all!! @John Bush : Thanks for being such a massive part of my lifes' soundtrack, man. Your songwriting has always been a clear reflection of your personality; and the often [painfully] open exposure of the depths of your emotional character, combined with your personal and moral integrity, have been both inspiring and motivational for most of my life. Really glad that you're still going just as hard as ever, still making great music, and I'm hoping you and the Saint come through the Southeast US again sometime soon!! Much love and respect, man...

Good times driving to LA to see Armored Saint. Met John outside of a liquor store. He was putting up flyers for the show we were going to see. I was probably 17 or 18. I thought the short interaction was awesome. I still have my old vinyl collection. Anthrax is in there as well as Armored Saint.

Met John and Frank on We’ve Come for You All tour. Great guys as Scott and Charlie sat on the bus half the night! Frank and I had a great chat about a variety of music while John and I talked about Armored Saint. Glad he went back!

I love both eras Anthrax is no doubt my favorite thrash band and def one of the most technical it baffles me how they are the least talked about of the big 4.

Great interview! I'd love to see John Bush do a tour of Anthrax songs. He definitely brought a different vibe to the band.

This guy is grrrrreat! I’m only listening to the JB Anthrax for about a month. Both singers are great. Like when Brian Johnson replaced Bon Scott. Both versions were entirely and sufficiently kick ass

I was never much of an Armored Saint fan but I am still listening to Armored Saint's "Can U Deliver" song all these years.

Even though I've listened to Anthrax since the 80s, Sound of White Noise is still my favorite Anthrax album. I admit it wasn't instant. I loved some songs but I was still in the "I miss old Anthrax" mindset for a year or two, but I came around. I remember throughout Bush's time with the band, lots of old school fans harped on about how "it ain't Anthrax without Belladonna". It was a different band, for sure, but I loved the Bush era. FUN FACT about the album cover for Stomp 442: The artwork was by Hipgnosis, who did artwork for Pink Floyd and others, and that piece was originally going to be used for Bruce Dickinson's Balls To Picasso album but was rejected because allegedly he couldn't afford it, so it was later offered to Anthrax. I used to wonder if that was Scott on the cover. Nope.
