"Globes became the dominant signifiers of the operable earth idea...They not only represented the earth as a geological monad...they produced the earth as a foil of action for mankind...The earth and the globe form the paradigm of modern semiotics; representational geography marks the start of the 'age of the world picture'. Because the earth was depicted 'accurately enough' on the globe, the truth of meaning for modern users of iconic systems was established; whatever was no more inaccurate in its depictive power than a globe in relation to the earth could be considered sufficiently true. ... The globe is the profane world - signifier of an age in which all points of the earth were imaged with the central assumption of equal accessibility and explorability for Europeans--it was no longer a metaphysical symbol, but rather a medium of earthly traffic that had become routine. Even if semanticists felt obliged to remind people that the map is not the land, the majority of Modern Age Europeans did believe that the globe was the earth...The globe is the earth insofar as it reveals the complete use of the earth for human history upon it. The total use of the earth is preceded by the globe lesson, which teaches that all points on the earth's surface can be described through the postulate of homogeneous accessibility and availability for Euro-American interventions." Peter Sloterdijk 2012

But yes, excellent point, towards the end, the level of control AFTER feed back is different for each genetic of vehicle for life, and there are millions of such vehicles.

Yes, the point made by Lacan, individuals seeking A master/mistress when they are a somewhat puny vehicle of live form! Let's adopt a JESUS - a BRIAN.
