I was cutting bowl cuts in the 80's. That is what this is. A pixie is a short layered cuts. As close as you can cut with your fingers. This is a bowl cut with textured ends.

I'm a senior too and I got a haircut just like this one 6 months ago at Great Clips for $12. I was so traumatized that I haven't had a haircut since. I went in looking like a woman and came out looking like a man with a bowl haircut. The stylist (if you can even call him that, didn't even ask me what I wanted, just started chopping and shearing. Stylists do not understand that senior woman are already feeling less feminine than they used to be because of menopause. To give them a haircut that looks manly only adds insult to injury. There are lot of cute and FEMININE pixie cuts out there that look feminine and sexy. This was NOT one of them.

I am over 60 and I have a bob haircut that is slightly longer than my chin. I have been told by hair stylists that a bob is too young of a style for me and that I should get a cute pixie cut. This video is the reason why I will not let anyone attempt to give me a pixie cut. I now have a stylist who will cut my hair the way I want it.

Pixie Bob's are very in at the moment. Shorter at the back with longer layers at the front but you need a good stylist to cut it not like this butcher.

Actually, I think it looks great on her. Gave her more volume ad lift. Made her hair look soft and full. Easy blow dry and go style and always put together. Not everyone can wear this cut, but this woman pulls it off. I thought the same thing at first, until finished. She does not look like a man.

Cutting my hair I was fed up doing it myself. Then went to go have another hair cut done at same place different stylist. I thought she did a pretty good job. I was impressed with her using the blade for volume done at top in the back. But after a day I styled it the way I wanted it and it wasn't what I liked. I did an over do and cut myself and now am pretty happy with my hair cut results.

I know it's not an easy job. Used to do it several years ago. Lousy pay, no benefits (at least back then), and some people think you don't have brains. Not true. It takes a lot of talent, patience and listening skills to be a good licensed hairdresser. I got bored with it and left it for better things. Word of mouth, I guess, to find a good one.

As someone who has worn short hair all their life, this was a very poor cut. Her use of clippers was excessive and will cause problems as the hair grows out. Ladies if you are thinking of going short, make sure of the stylists ability to do it right the first cut and not have to keep going back and fixing mistakes.

As soon as I saw the clippers trying to cut wet hair I knew that’s where the mistake began. Then cutting above the occipital bone. Then going back in with the trimmers. Should have used a much larger guard and dried the nape first for shrinkage. Then tapered with the next guard down. Should have scissor cut all the to and anything above occipital. Stick with scissors your good with them.

Yes. Some punish you if you say the wrong thing, rub them the wrong way, are happy or attractive. Two stylists were laughing after she chopped off all my long hair with Dracula sideburns. I asked for shoulder length cut. A gay guy got an attitude and chopped my hair so unbalanced. It's sad. You get mistreated and bullied even at salons Women and men are mean. I've had lots of those experiences and now I never go to salons.

My daughter is nearly 25 and does her own hair now and she has NEVER been to a hairdresser. We have done all our own dyeing work too. Something went terribly wrong with the undercut I'm assuming. It's so hard to find a good stylist. I had a girl that cut my hair for 10 -12 years or longer. I could go to her and just say "cut my hair". She always asked what I wanted and usually I told her just cut it. She gave me some amazing styles over the years. I just get the clippers and go to it now. I've had my hair really messed up by stylists. My hair is literally 2 inches long on top or a little shorter and it's very short on sides and back. How do you mess that up? But they do somehow.

I really hope this lady liked her haircut because it took the stylist a very long time just to cut her hair using clippers mostly due to her leaving her hair wet and partly because I think she was trying to cover up her mistakes. After clipping, she cut her hair making sure to cut evenly, then ended up clipping that part too. I do hope she liked her haircut!

You have to tell the hair stylist, when to stop cutting your hair. If you feel it's too short, you have the right to say something when you are sitting in the chair. Don't wait until it's too late! You can't get back your hair, once it's cut, especially, if it's too short for you. I have been through this so many times with different hair stylists. I can never get the right haircut for my type of hair. It's so frustrating and very stressful to say the least. Now, I just cut my hair myself and do it the way I want it done, instead of the way someone else says it should be done. Just remember, hair stylists are paid to cut your hair with your money, not theirs. So, you should try to get the kind of haircut you want, not what they want. Just saying. 😊

I knew it would be a disaster from the start when I saw the type of calm she was using. Become she used is not a styling comb. The next mistake she did what I had to cut her hair wet with the Clippers. Hair gets bunched up in the Clippers and causes those awful knicks. She messed up on the first go-around so now she had to try and cover up the mess he made. I was a hairdresser I know what I'm talking about. I'm wondering if this is in Beauty School

Yes. It's terrible. Sylists seem to cut and shave off hair like an obsession and the customer is subjected to a bad hair cut and sadness afterwards when they looked forward to looking better. What a let down. I remember my long hair being chipped off so short I felt horrible. The stylist did it intentionally since she had an attitude. Probably competitive. Never again.

I'm 69 with white, white, curly, curly hair....down to the middle of my back. I call it my "covid' hair. It goes up in a lovely, curly bun which makes me look so much younger. In Florida, my curly bun beats the heat and the humidity. It's the way our foresisters wore it.

I can't believe anyone even posted this. I spent my life cutting family and friends hair. My own as well. I did a cut like this a bazillion times with far less time and much better results. I understand that a head of thin hair is far more difficult to cut so I would never have attempted that cut on hair that thin! What a disaster.

I just feel that older woman as myself can’t do the undercut because of thinning hair. This look is very bowl like and this lady needs some style and height. She broke up the haircut in two parts and ended up shaving the part that she just texturized...didn’t make sense. I have a pixie but it’s much more stylish. She would have been better of with a very short non shaven textured pixie with movement. Just my thoughts.

I am 50 years old had lovely thick wavy shoulder length hair was growing out my old color during covid. Went to a saloon to get it cut she did an absolutely horrendous. Undercut thinned out my fringe it is wispy and stringy. Similar to this lady. , I reckon she was jealous as her own bleached blonde hair was wafer thin. I got a full refund I will never go back to a hairdresser again. When it grows back I shall plait it , put in a bun like my Spanish nana did

Sorry that you've had mostly bad experiences with haircuts. All hairdressers aren't that careless, though. I don't know why some get scissor happy and scattered while others are very mindful of what they're doing, and they listen to the client's needs. :(

I went into Great Clips and ask for a stylish medium short haircut and even provided a picture that I held in front of her the entire time. I came home with a pixie that I was very displeased with. The stylist didn't do what I wanted, she did what she wanted.
