1). Anti Dumping Duty - a). It is a tariff that a domestic government imposes on foreign imports that is believes are priced below fair market value. b). It is permitted by the WTO. c). It is valid for period of 5 years from the date of imposition. But it can be extended for a further period of 5 years through a Sunset . 2). Counter vailing Duty - a). Duties that are imposed in order to counter the negative impact of import subsidises to protect domestic producers are called CVD . b). It is also permitted by WTO . 3). Both are officially implemented by the Directorate General of Trade Remidies. QOTD- 1)- option A CVD levied on subsidised goods by importing countries. 2)- option B Ministry of Commerce and Industry. madam, i have a confusion if the people are getting the product at cheaper rates from other country and if the manufacturing cost is high in our country then why do we try to produce at higher cost ? specially anti dumping like what if they have very low production cost no subsidy is provided ... and then what is the purpose of importing and exporting anything ? then, why countries import and export things ?
