@punkerast ANARCHY noun 1. a state of society without government or law. 2. political and social disorder due to the absence of governmental control: 3. anarchism (def 1). 4. lack of obedience to an authority; insubordination: 5. confusion and disorder you can sing about anarchy and coming together. anarchy isn't about people all hating each other. If we all lived and made choices by using common sense and a sense of decency towards other humans and at the same time had no political and government figures telling us what we can and cannot do, that would still be anarchy by definition. The term is demonized by politicians and government because it could spread the idea that we don't need them. And in reality we don't.

Well said, but we dont live in a perfect world. We have way too many people who would abuse anarchy. Pillaging and rape would explode. The streets would be full of blood. If everyone was decent, your idea would work. But there are way too many assholes in this world.

Brandon Robinson Whos to say you would even be alive? Pretty sure all of the gangs would completely take over. Hells angels, "ISIS" blood, crypt, taliban... Like really. You have way too much faith in humanity. If someone drops an A bomb on your city, will you survive? Chances are you wouldnt. Unless you have money, you're going to die. You're not thinking of the pieces of shit. Regardless of good people, there will be more bad. The only way to survive would be to either hide, or get into a gang. This world would literally burn to the ground. Its nice that you still have faith that good people would have order, but it doesnt work that way. You'll find as you get older, youll see the world in its true light. We could never live like this. Its been done before and almost killed off a race. Look at Hitler, or even our ancestors who killed so many natives. You may think that the world would be a better place without guidelines, but you dont understand how desperate one gets when its live or die. One of those double edge sword deals...

Its not just capitalism that needs to go down the fucking drain. Its the two party system that most free nations follow. You know your a slave to this if you ask someone, "are you Republican or Democrat?" We need more voices and more options not douchebags selling out their views so they will get sponsored by a party. Its a damn shame.

@axedecapitation Exactly it would become like Lord Of The Flies all over again. Despite a legit government, someone decided to take over the tribe and separate the two groups. While some may not agree there will always be "the Man" because that's what drives us. It's just what's in our DNA and we have to learn to accept. While I don't believe in absolute conformity, I do however believe we should follow the rules and norms of society. It's just learning when to play along and when to change.

@AtombombmotherThe truth is without government you don't have freedom. Without freedom you have dictatorship. Without dictatorship you have rebellion and anarchy. As you can all see we need a government to control our lives because otherwise our society would indeed collapse worse then ever before. Take a good look at 1984 and Lord Of The Flies for two separate, but honest and important ideologies to better understand human motivation and society.

@yourheroxyz People in Eastern Europe were under the control of a ruling clique which arose from the backwardness of Russia - it's lack of a large working class, industry, etc and the bureaucracy which was out of desperation created just in order for things to keep running. Lenin and Trotsky understood this. The problem was that there was no international revolution to link up with to take care of their problems. So the bureaucrats were free to do what they needed to preserve their perks.

@FearDivinity Again, if slaves could vote whose slaves they were it would technically be "democracy", yet it is unjustified. Freedom means self-determination and autonomy, it means to decide for oneself. Deciding who is going to determine for you and who may take your autonomy is no longer freedom. Hence, hierarchical democracy (parliamentary democracy) is not free. The only true democracy is non-hierarchical, i.e. direct-participatory democracy.

Anarchy obviously means something different to the different people here. I think it simply means the declaring of all laws that protect private property and the upper class null and VOID. Hence, anarchy. It is an authoritarian (nondemocratic) government that undergirds capitalism. Their laws protect their system, and people all over the world protest the imposition of it. Anarchy is the bridge to the future.

@Liam11w In a way yes, but they and their views are generally superior because of where they come from themselves. For the Japanese nationalists in WW II it was a superiority over the Chinese and the other East Asians, For the Germans it was the Aryan or Northern European race that were superior, in South Africa it was whites over blacks, but the most common one is, unfortunately, whites over just about everybody else.

@69Techno69pt that's capitalism? that's not a free market bailing out failed buisness and companies and propping up others with subsidies is not a free market. what we have right now is corporatism, and the government is in bed with the corporations. Read Ron Paul's book liberty defined it explains alot on free markets and look into some austrian economists like von hayek and von mises.

@yourheroxyz Cooperative capitalism? Haha, that's quite some doublethink you got goin on there. By definition capitalism cannot be cooperative. Capitalists may co-opt labor so as to assure labor remains docile, but that's not cooperation. That's liberal subjugation; keep the slaves happy so they stay in their place. Socialism is working class control over production, as defined, supported, and enacted by every true socialist ever. Catalonia in '36 is the most striking and inspiring example.

@BibleTrippin i agreee to an extent. of course the news is corporate interest and bullshit sensationizations most of the time, but shows like the daily show or sometimes shit on msnbc can be pretty illuminating. but people shoulc def get their news from as many different sources as possible, the internet, books, intellectual discussions, magazines, podcast, and even the news. just watch everything with a skeptical eye and you will be alright. thats my opinion anyway. have a good one brother.

@woodshawn94 the division between sunni and shia stem from disputes over who should rule after muhammad and has been raging ever since muhammad died. they both kill eachother, its kinda like catholics and protestants in northern ireland, they are more alike then they are different but kill eachother because they focus on the few differences between. the shia and sunni can both be murderous and have multiple times, i reject the notino that one is about peace. its alll about interpretation anyway.

@RancidAkuma Yeah. Every body in the punk scene thinks anarchy is the best alternative. Don't get me wrong, anarchy is great for a society of people able to govern themselves, but it ignores that fact that people are greedy and power hungry. Not to mention people have a habit of blowing each other up. Case in point: Afghanistan, Pakistan, and arguably South Africa. To each his own, but I'm not sold on the whole black block protests. Maybe I just like being alive..

@JamesKasal The best example would be the Spanish Republic before it was destroyed by the fascists. We'll never know how successful that might have been (the anarcho-syndicalist CNT Union still is pretty successful). The parts of Mexico liberated by the Zapatistas would be another. Many towns in New England used to make decisions in town hall meetings where every resident had a vote-some still do I believe. Whats more, just because someone hasn't existed before doesn't mean it never can/will.

Culture is fluid my friend, and this largely stems from the economy. For example, in Socialist countries a large value is placed on collective action and care which is exemplified by trade union activity, low crime rates and so forth. You obviously come from either the U.K or U.S like I do, in which helping others is pretty much looked down upon. I've already cited historical examples for you, did you look into them? History is on my side in this case.

The only way we could ever achieve anarchy is with a united whole population devoted to each other. That being said a state of anarchy would be perfect. Problem is people can't do that, so there wont be anarchy. P.s you cannot have democracy with anarchy... its a different system entirely. Democracy involves a figurehead, A leader. It also includes minorities. Anarchy does not.

@codcommando Socialism does not presuppose a state: see anarchism. "rich people create jobs", which is only true under conditions of private property. Under common ownership unemployment is completely eliminated which makes your argument invalid. I advice you to read An Anarchist FAQ, specifically section I but others are a good read too.

@yourheroxyz No, you are mixing up Socialism and Social Democracy. Socialism is the stage of history in which the working class has taken over both economic and political power and has begun to run the economy through workers' democracy. Social Democracy is what is commonly referred to as "Capitalism with a human face", Capitalism with social programs.

anarchy is basic, direct democracy. anarchy isn't a system at all. a system includes always a government, A. dosn't have one. ppl are self organized, workers produce, but there is no capitalist force who take away the money, cause there will be no money. ppl will produce, work will be splitted, wich creates less unemployments and more luxury for everyone!

ofcourse anarchy cant work in this society. Thats why we need to tear it down first, through the collective and individual empowerment of the exploited and repressed, in the workplaces and on the streets.

you don't have to have crazy Mohawks and shit to be punk really... its all about attitude and beliefs... the way you see life and the "system" yata yata but just with any group there is a punk look.

its a shame anti-flag doesn't play any of these songs from fat wreck or before on stage anymore. and #2 seems to be the frontman now. Justin needs to knock some sense into him sometimes
