My idea to avoid antifoul, and to instead to rely on regular cleans with epoxy bottomside paint instead, didn't work. Barnacles really took hold last summer. So here we go - antifouling time.

I looked at copper coat. But the application is mega picky, and you still need to sand it annually.

The next time you paint the hull, use a wool paint roller. Only 1 solves your problem.

I did end up doing that the following day, as it would have taken a week for the good foam rollers I've used in the past to arrive. I find foam gives a quicker flat finish compared to hairy rollers, but that's probably just my technique being rubbish. And I'm not rolling and tipping of course.

Often times an intermediate line of colour known as a "bootstripe" is painted between the antifouling and the topside, right at or just above the waterline. I'm honestly not sure why it's done, maybe to just to make the antifoul colour transition look smart, which it does.

Alan was never designed to be pretty. It's in his spirit to choose the most functional option, regardless of aesthetic. I'm sure the porpoises & polar bears will not mind the color of the anti-fouling.

Rope cutter is wrong way around and should be up against the prop, smaller end tight against the prop.
