One in three working age part Maoris are state dependent and are per capita the highest unemployed group.

100% correct just look at what the last government did with the electoral (Registration of Sentenced Prisoners) Amendment Act that was passed in June 2020. The Act allows people in prison who are serving prison sentences of less than three years, to enroll to vote in the General Elections. That includes repeat violent offenders and child offenders.

How ignorant are people to try and claim racism. when by saying "it is racist towards Māori" they are literally admitting that gang members are mainly Māori. Maybe they should be putting more effort into reducing the 54% male and 64% female Māori prison population.

The problem is also generational. Young children growing up with parents in gangs. They get indoctrinated at an early age. Its very differcult to break the cycle, especially in smaller towns where gangs have infiltrated and have a dominate presence and influence...but i wish the minister and the ACT party all the best in solving the gang problem in New Zealand.
@Mark-g6l7i20 сағат бұрын
So it is a maori [problem ?
@dtm40020 сағат бұрын
@Mark-g6l7i It most certainly is as a majority of the gangs that make their presence known in public are Maori and this affects all New Zealanders. I wonder why the Maori elders don't address the issue of the gangs as they are their people, than leaving it up to the politicians. They need to put their house in order to bring harmony and togetherous back into the community.

So if you disagree with his stats and what he is saying then prove him wrong. Is it now if we don’t use the perfect pronunciation of a name or what ever we are racist. That’s the pot calling the kettle black or to be non offensive and PC some other colour of your choice. Yes all the people in prison have made bad choices all of which are perfectly valid to them at the time. so when is someone going to take up their cause. That’s right they are not Māori and there are a lot of different ethnic backgrounds in prison. Because that’s what bulk of these uploads say it is due to their being one particular ethnic back ground. They deserve to be treated differently from any one else. No that is a cop out do the crime do the time.
