Seymour outclasses them every time. He’s logical,he’s honest,he’s clear thinking,he has the best interests of the nation at heart. It takes bravery… to be honest,to be logical, to have the best interests of all New Zealanders. David Seymour outclasses the opposition every time. He is a brave man. He deserves utmost respect.

Never been a supporter of Seymour but in this he is on the money. When Willie does his number, Mathew Hooton springs to life as if he still knows everything and the Churches speak Humbug most Kiwis realise what is actually at stake with this. With Peters standing on a pin head in this saying there are no principles but does nothing about the abuse by others of the many interpretations and Luxon standing off because he does not have a pair as like Key he sits on the barbed wire not knowing which way to jump. And there is Brownlee trying to stall Seymour at every opportunity. Beware deniers -There would be many Kiwis sick of this righteous group who wish to carry on their ridiculous racist position in stopping Seymour.He was superb in the house and we are lucky to have him.

Well done, David Seymour and the Act Party 💯% 👍 for your stand for equal rights on behalf of all non-racist New Zealanders. History shows that non-racist New Zealanders of all skin colors stood together in solidarity against the apartide system in South African. Now, in 2024, we as non-racist New Zealanders now have another opportunity to stand against apartide based politics, this time to stand together for the equal rights for all NZ citizens. Starting by repairing the harm done by previous governments and returning New Zealand to a prosperous society that does not divide citizens by race. Canceling the race based divide created by previous politicians to gain race based votes, most recently by the previous Adern lead government politicians aimed at forcing New Zealand citizens into a divisive race based society.

Clergymen of the religious faternity don't support the Bill because they share a common interest.... selling their Bible interpretation services.

Only the boys and girls at the top of the maori tree get to receive any benefit from it, they expect the rest of the country to keep paying for the others at the bottom that they have cut out. Classic grifters strategy which shows quite clearly an incredible level of moral, ethical and financial corruption against their own. Instead of being a shining beacon for their people and driving their betterment, they have denigrated all maori.

Everyone is entitled to equal rights! Anything else is an attack on the non maori population! Maori owning the seabed and forshore of this country is a complete break of the waitangi agreement to advantage one race which is therefore racist!
@enumeratenz

Seymour makes some excellent points ... reference to to principles in legislation without clarity at a constitutional level is is a recipe for all sorts of mischief. The Treaty of Waitangi Act was intended to form a Tribunal empowered to bind the government to land claim settlements. This was never an ongoing constitutional review; this was to effect Deeds of Settlement whereby both parties (Iwi and Government) agree it will be a final and comprehensive settlement of all the historical Treaty of Waitangi claims. Talk about bad faith, Willie Jackson was exercised to the point of inciting violence shortly after Act announced its intention to progress the Bill. Willie probably takes comfort in the ambiguous nature of the current state of Treaty Principles so as to justify whatever incoherent position he wishes to take on any matter (I thought he was Alliance, now he is Labour, again). Willie is not a person for whom probity, logic and good governance are respected. I listened to a Vic University Law lecturer on RNZ who clearly could not separate Constitutional and Common-Law Torts. If this is the state of the academics, the state of the judiciary is probably much worse (especially when it comes to recent appointees of the Waitangi Tribunal - who seem to be confused by basic issues of jurisdiction). This Bill is valuable and necessary. I hope National put aside their spinelessness on this issue and do the right thing. Winston's view is that the Treaty Pinciples Bill is unnecessary ... because there are NO principles in the Treaty of Waitangi. The choice is to either remove references to Treaty Principles in ALL legislation or define EXACTLY what these principles are. National's position is the cowards way out.
