This is a automatic anti homing missile system i built using a custom turret controller that detects incoming missiles and launches decoy rockets automatically.

good idea but wont work against certain scripts and wont work at all with the use of Weapon core mod or scripts that use Weapon core in full vanilla this works great

I have something very simmilar on my fighter. It distracts drones and turrets long enough to make a fatal attack run or destroy enemie drones depending on the set up. I find it most effective on the offence tbh. As a defensive weapon it doesnt guarantee distraction for some reason I havent figured out yet

decoys have to be powered to distract stuff unpowered decoys are set as the lowest priority, powered as one of the highest

@@little_lord_tam Huh, that's strange, I wonder if it's because the grids separate too early or the decoys aren't exposed enough before you drop/launch them

Do you think the future of grid ai will make it so we can build smaller guided missiles/ better refine your APS (and make it smaller)

Yeah i think grid AI will open a whole new world of possibilities. Im also very excited for the eventblock.

amazing tank bro, it has very low profile, but how can you spawn the wheels in survival?

Thanks! To spawn the wheels you need to change the height offset and remove a couple armor blocks

2 questions. When in combat do you have to turn off the APS (active protection system) so they don’t miss fire and what is the range the missile has to be before the APS fires off

The APS does need to be turned off if you dont want it to fire in combat. But most of the time you actually want to fire it when in combat because it can also distract enemy turrets. The APS range setting can be adjusted depending on your movement speed. If you are going fast it needs to be on 500m, if you are going a normal speed 400m, and when standing still/defending 300m

How does this anti missile differentiate a small grid vehicle from a missile that has been launched?

It doesnt differentiate between vehicles and missiles, but most of the time it will work in your advantage to have automatic decoys launch when in range of enemy turrets

@@Tyrenol Thank you for your response, I see your point. Subsequently, can you tell me how you detect that a turret is in range and then tell the missile to start itself? I guess the later is done via an event controller. Do you have a workshop link?
