"He has himself admitted that our exports are dependent on imports to the extent of 37%. Restricting imports will have two adverse effects one exports will be restricted second inflation will rise which will again make exports costlier. The suggested solution will only give short term benefit. Long-term solution is to increase local production with least or none import content. If private sector is not coming forward we can revive Ayub Khan's strategy of first starting manufacturing companies in the public sector and then privatizing them. PIDC can play an important role."

Professor there could be few more helpful solutions. - import from neighbouring countries like india and Iran (waivers might be granted considering the economic situation). - trade in Rs. terms with countries from which pakistan import necessary items but also exports items which pakistan can easily produce. (One example would be export of agri products and import of oil from UAE). - stopping important of luxury products or atleast highly taxing them like luxury cars and costly phones. (Tax wants and wishes). -Introducing gold bonds. like sovereign gold bonds by RBI India. -subsidies based on income levels. - introducing green energy initiatives for vehicle and energy production. (This can be a long term measure). -pause in defence imports (big ticket items) as the main threat to Pakistan today can be countered using existing items. I wish i had learnt economics from you.

Economic assessment personal point of view at age 29 *Questioning the dynamics of what went wrong economically to wort down current crises of the last 75 years Objectives of a collective economy The far most objective of a collective economy is to save its basic consumer unit & his rights,From domestic & International burden & fluctuations & Role of any govt is to minimise the impact in any form & substitution The second Role is Growth/development in Accordance to the benefit & utility of consumer So the far right poor,& minority is protected Concise Economic Future & Offsetting The Current Economic paradigm The Current divide of Pakistan Is not just as simple as HAVE NOTS,& HAVE TOO'S Alleviate Poverty Class to a consumer class & play an international role in political dynamics for other countries In a garrisoned security state We're facing a myriad of problems That are interlinked one into other & Creating a national identity crises Our solution of action should be On two paths Determining the problem of "garrison nation-state" And cutting cost effective solutions at every level of integration between people For this general law/guide Of Operability manual For the servicing sector must be produced That indoctrinates Code of conduct in Spending Sectors i.e Education,Health a government should not work in with the divisions & constraints of ministries But the divisions be based on Proper institutionalised channels For example Law division,in health sector, establishment wing in health sector, budget & taxation wing in health sector, Media wing in health sector should be linked & managed accordingly to local district & autonomous bodies on provicial level & Such division should happen under every ministry so the control of ministry & sector is not vertical but parallel between institutions & ministeries. A ministry should be run according to 3 standards,i.e 1.spending 2.Growth/development 3.Separate department for bookkeeping, logging & keeping tabs These 3 departments should be separate,the third one should manage record keeping & purposefully digitalise it Simplifying our government terms would be beneficial for our community for long run Criteria for appointment of BS-17 & above officers An appointing file must be created that reviews officers action His engagement with budget & his spending decisions & services Along side an assistant that maintains his serving & minute timings to solve inter/intra departmental issues & That file be reviewed every year & Merits of pension be given according to that file. Economy of a country is its natural & human resources & proper management of human resource is the bedrock, foundation & standing of every country Our Economy is spending economy in broader terms Let's Review our economy from a spending point of view. Our Problem can be listed as We buy Foriegn goods,into foreign reserve currency $ We need to offset this balance It can only be offset if our youth finds its international role in international community Our own people can bring value to PKR,no one else When everyone's loosing confidence in currency how can we gain value & trust? Our Plan by 2040 should be to settle atleast a minimum of 330m people here & earn resources so they can live prosperously We must observe UAE model & see how it has attracted foreign wealth,tourism & FDI into the barren land That model could have been implemented if our budget spending was wise we could have updated atleast 75 cities to the likes of UAE Our economy can no longer be led By building roads & repairing them year on year & some mad man comes at night & stomps on them Nor can our economy be to build a building & install a banking branch near it Like temple of solomon"Built it & they will come" We need to attract foreigners by engaging them at people to people level Other part of Economy sector is local demand for goods & what goods can be produced locally, keeping the cost of production low,so that Others can buy those goods A great example is during covid the demand of Pakistan made short capacitors were peaking because production slowed down in china We need comprehensive research to seek local businesses that can venture out & seek demand of our goods into other countries Latin America is a particular market For example Bangladesh has taken over manufacturing clothing articles Now we're tagging goods but production must be maintained of those industries that are constantly importing raw material They need to be kept in check We cannot manufacture unlimited supply of towels & men's brief etc The same principle can be applied to other sectors Most important point is the political point of economics That we can smartly maneuver our banking system by allying Turkey & Muslim countries behind a single logistics body from KSA that can offset our import goods demand to atleast 45% This alone would deflate the pressure on our economies & give us more time for restructuring the fundamentals After that objectivise 10 year old plan for steady development be executed Other economic plans listed are the problems related to fiat currency Consider these three problems inherent with fiat goods are unlimited,crops & goods are produced unlimitedly so cost of production keeps on going up,so does fiat currency Consider the face value of 10PKR NOTE 10pkr that is rated among 100 people represents trade service of 1000pkr but still represents only rupees 10 which infact is not it's facevalue it's service unit of use has increased So has its fiat numbers The next problem is banking Banks likes to keep notes locked up & inflate digital numbers by loan equity & cash deposit payment methods While still price manipulation & inflation price of goods keeps going up Govt borrows it's spending from banks because they don't want to print & print required numbers Yet the government gets blackmailed by bank To offset this primary issue Govt must take steps to decouple internal economy from international monetisation Since we're not in international supply chain except for our spending we can mostly shield ourselves from this effect Other thing that can be done is Calculating the value of our currency using a new standard that is ratioed between Debt/goods:services Influx of foreign currency/FDI/good will faith of other countries i.e population measure of a country Our country in theory should be kept near Bangladesh, Afghanistan Goods on defer payments/schedule payments Reserving face value of currency to atleast 25% of the Gold within country & Reserve currency of other countries & A future indice point of trade & stocks/bonds into the country This all can be negotiated first with allies & then be presented to IMF & World banks Then they can submit their draft for our proposal Thinking like this will create a balance for our currency instead of sloping slide Other part of the process should be Allowing banking sector of India in Pakistan to facilitate communal trade between two countries of same nation Our 5000pkr note should be suspended for in favour of 2500pkr note & that should be equal to Indian 2000pkr note Such an incentive could engage India

I watched your complete video but the solutions you proposed were actually similar to PDM policies to control LC's and reduce CAD which infact was done successfully. However despite reduction of CAD the country barely posted a GDP growth of about 0.3pc which means unemployment and rise in poverty. Moreover,You talked about the banning of luxury products. Luxury products are cause of concern only if they are huge in value but if we look closely in our import bill we find that petroleum and olive oil share the largest volume of import bill. Unfortunately regulating the LC's of these products will only create demand supply problems and will result in higher prices. In this scenerio i think the best solution is to reduce corporate taxes and invite foreign companies to invest in Pakistan. In the consequence of their investments the balance of payment crisis would be averted. As india's CAD is also 67bn usd and run high trade deficit but all is balanced due to investment of 70.4 bn usd.

As an Indian I can say this, this man should be Pakistan's finance minister or central bank governor orrrr at the very least be a part of a council of economic advisors to the PM. If he was born in India, the Indian state would have recognized his work ethic, nationalism and patriotism and given him an important position. Sir i agree with you on almost every point you discussed in this video but their is one thing which you have missed. You emphasised to import to such an extent which is equal to export and remittances combined, i don't think this will be the ultimate solution to our economic problem, this could had been the solution if we didn't had a debt of 131 billion dollars. Pakistan has to repay 75 billion dollars in next three years in the form of repayments of loans alongside the interest on principle amount, even if Pakistan discards the current account deficit and get an escape from balance of payment issue still our foreign debt repayments would compel us to borrow more or else the foreign exchange reserves would fall and hence dollar will gain against Pakistani rupees. The solution to Pakistan's economic woes lies in increasing its revenues from exports and remittances to such an extent that the repayment it debts is ensured by national earning rather than by acquiring further loans..

I agree we should live within our means, shouldn't import more than exports but thes solutions you have given also restrict growth. For example a person imports raw material but now he is restricted to import lesser amount of raw material, it will create shortage of that material in the market and will automatically increase the rate of material leading to all kinds of problems e.g. increase in price of products, degrowth, closing of big and small businesses. This example is not a hypothetical one but a practical one. This has happened this year so far. For example, Increased chicken prices due to restricted chicken feed import, increased electrical appliances prices due to limited scrap items import (which provides raw metals used in these appliances), increased oil prices etc. Hope you will address this point in your upcoming videos.

The logic is simple. The IMF is an American institution and when they give loan to you, they want that their currency must not be controlled by you and the price of it must be determined by market forces and not by government. The Americans raised this issue about currency manipulation even with China. India also manipulates/regulates its exchange rates by buying & selling US$ and that is allowed. Pakistan can also regulate the exchange rate by cutting demand for US$ through market sale of US.....but Pakistan have no US$ and it also does not want to declare bankruptsy!. If Pakistan declares bankrupt status, then everything will be fine and it can start with a clean slate from zero but Pakistan wants to remain in the game and continue to borrow. It does not want to cut down on military expenditure & protocol. Sooo Pakistan will suffer.

Nationalisation of IPPS can be a solution.If govt. presents this idea .It will force IPPS to renegotiate their agreements which they r not doing now . IPPS have already earned huge amount of profita . If even after it IPPS not come for renegotiation they shld be nationalized .People will say it will hurt foreign investments .But even now most investment comes from Arabs or China and it will not be affected by this step .
