It’s easy to say don’t use antibiotics but when all else failed and you shell out a ton of money on some naturopath doctor for a year, guess what ? It’s time for antibiotics

Try cutting out the probiotics, yogurt, etc. They feed the SIBO in a lot of people. Most SIBO is not from disease-causing bacteria. It's mostly from standard intestinal bacteria growing in your small intestine--where they don't belong.
@1969strangelove2 жыл бұрын
Robin Lillian Why no probiotics ? Always thought they were good for the gut. Why would they feed SIBO.
@EJ257IHI2 жыл бұрын
@@1969strangelove Because SIBO means the good bacteria migrated upwards to the small bowel, so if you take probiotics and/or already have bloating, that's usually a sign of SIBO. At that point, get tested or you can experiment and STOP all probiotics, go on a SIBO diet and start taking Berberine/Allicin/Oregano oil and see if the bloating goes away.

Dear Doctor, I watched your video where you talked about the ileocecal valve massage. I tried it few times but I worry to make things worse by leaving the valve open or totally shut depending on my problem. I now just learnt that probiotics or yogurt can be bad for SIBO. Sad that over the internet there are many conflicting information leaving us sufferers in a terrible state.

Still trying to find one Gastroenterologist in my area who even knows how to treat SIBO after 2 years. It's extremely frustrating because more times than not I know more about it then they do just through my own research and all they say to take more antibiotics. Already had two rounds and I'm suffering leaky gut as an after effect of near complete eradication. I feel like its pointless to go to a Gastro anymore because no one even knows how to treat me. A Paleo diet is helping me a lot but the symptoms still persist some days, just on a much milder level.

Can sibo cause hypochlorhydria or is it the other way around? Or is it adrenal fatigue that causes slow digestion and hypocholorhydria? I heard that adrenal fatigue can slow down the thyroid.

NaturalHI I think they all can cause each other.. but def. SIBO will cause Low Stomach acids.

What about "Herbal Antibiotics?"
@genesisSOC9 жыл бұрын
+NaturalHI Most herbs are herbal anti-microbials, which are different than anti-biotics. I have a really bad case of both hydrogen and methane SIBO (though my methane is way higher, it was 25 on the control and 75 at the 2 hour peek) and my integrative medicine doctor/herbalist is having me take a variety of herbs for it. He made a SIBO herbal tincture for me that includes goldenseal and some other stuff (I can grab the bottle downstairs and tell you if you want to know the details), then another herbal tincture for my anxiety/thryoid that includes lemon grass and some other stuff (my reverse T3 is very high while my triiodothyronine is very low, which is weird because I have extreme weight loss not weight gain with my SIBO). I'm also taking a multivitamin he made for me, plus Allicin and a digestive enzyme as a biofilm buster. Then, of course, the SIBO diet (For me, I'm super limited. I pretty much eat grass-fed/wild caught meat/salmon, eggs, organic romaine lettuce, very small amounts of heavy sauted kale/arugala, small amounts of organic baby carrots, very small amounts of pinapple/papaya, sometimes some jasmine white rice, and an extremely small amount of organic clover honey once a day. I also use lots of Himelayan pink rock salt, organic turmeric, cumin and oregano. I also eat a very ripe banana every morning, and a grassfed butter/extra virgin organic coconut oil/small small teaspoon of organic Chinese cinnamon tea). As for your other comment, typically SIBO is caused by hypochlorhydria. It can be either way. It's really dependent on what all is wrong with you. Get your iron, vitamin D and ferritin checked as well in addition to T3/T4 thyroid hormones, antibodies, and even consider pheochromocytoma test.

@@hamid954 Hi, sorry for the late reply. I'm clean from SIBO but it really made very little difference to my overall health/energy/weight, though it has allowed me to eat a lot more variety of foods including some FODMAPs and sweet potatoes. Still stuck at 105 pounds, 5'9" 28 year old male despite eating plenty of sweet potato/3000 calories a day. Can't exercise due to massive chest pains that started right before I got SIBO. So SIBO wasn't a root cause for most of my symptoms except for bloating/burping after meals and less food sensitivities. I guess my bowel movements might be a bit better, too. But yeah I tried a few different anti-microbial protocols and a specific anti-SIBO diet for me with that guy and they totally worked for SIBO. I had three different herbal blends specifically for SIBO that I tried, the third one worked the best for me. Gave me some pretty instant results, I have it downstairs. I'll share if you want, it has peppermint in it and I think that was the biggest winner for me.

@@Arzur3Arturo Howdy, I'm more than happy to share my experiences and what I know. That protocol worked great for my SIBO, I'm totally cleared now and it hasn't come back at all in over a year. I'm able to eat a lot of FODMAPs and resistant starch now that I couldn't before, like many cruciferous veggies such as cauliflower, broccoli, and cabbage along with sweet potatos and avocados that all gave me massive bloating/burping in the past with SIBO. I tried 3 different herbal tinctures for SIBO specifically, the third one I tried made the biggest difference for me. It has a bunch of different herbs, but the peppermint he added worked the best. Remind me tomorrow and I'll go grab it and share all the herbs in it. Garlic extract with allicin didn't seem to help me much personally. I still have a lot of many other massive health symptoms that I thought could improve with SIBO being cleared out, but they didn't. While this may be unrelated to SIBO, acupuncture has made a huge difference in my life a long with a legit chiro. One thing that will likely happen with SIBO is that when you get super bloated and burpy, your stomach will slide up your hiatus and get stuck in your diaphragm. This is called a hiatal hernia, and it's pretty uncomfortable/annoying when that happens. It'll cause a lot of heart burn (even if you don't feel it) because it forces the esophagus valve to stay open and let acid in when it shouldn't. You don't need surgery (don't let anyone tell you you do, it'll make things much worse if you get surgery to fix it), you just need to find a legit chiro to push it back down. When calling/looking for chiros, just ask them over the phone if they know how to push down a hiatal hernia. If they say no, you need surgery, then they're idiots and don't go to them lol. The best chiros know how to use a vibrating machine to push it down without having to do it manually, but manually is fine too. Another thing that helped me a lot (and I still take regularly, I don't take anything for SIBO any more but I always keep that herbal tincture on back up incase I ever need it again) is betaine HCL. I get it from NOW Foods on Amazon for like $10 a bottle, each bottle lasts me about a month. You'll need to find the right dosage for you (take 1 capsule, if you don't feel burning/anything, try 2, keep taking more until you feel the burn, then go back one dose and do that every meal with protein/carbs). The HCL can make a huge difference for SIBO, but also many other things. I did the SIBO breath test to confirm I had it, but I think you should also check for parasites/candida. The GI Map test from Diagonstic Solutions, organic acids from Great Plains and 401-H from Biohealth are all great standard tests to do, too. But man they're costly. I wouldn't recommend SIBO testing because you really know if you have it or not based on symptoms alone, so save your $ for something else. Anything else I can help you with? I'm totally happy to do what I can.
