Does anyone have a favourite of Tosi's recipes that you haven't seen me tackle yet?? Thanks all for watching...and if you're one of the brave who made it to the end of this video...honestly, you rock. If you like what I'm doing, feel free to SHARE!!

ANTI-CHEF I LOVE her carrot cake 😻 it’s delicious and uses the liquid cheesecake too! I also made her chocolate malt cake for my bf for his birthday and it was EPIC!

Hello! I don't usually comment but I love all your videos. For a Tosi recipe, I would definitely recommend the Candy Bar pie. She describes it as a pain to make and she's right, but it's definitely worth it! The recipe's in her first book: Momofuku Milk Bar. Hope you take the time to look for the recipe and try it.

Popcorn cake is INSANE. Took a lot of time to make but fabulous.

Bing watching your episodes. So much fun! Thank goodness I'm not into sweets or I would have to go out now at 1am and at least get a Frosty from Wendy's! I started with the Julia Childs episodes and then started to go backwards. I love how you solve your problems. Great job 👌

DThe first appearance of “bowl me!”, even though you’d use the technique from above earlier. Love it.

That cake had so many parts, I don’t know how you did I but you did it. Looks delicious. I like when bowls gods drop bowls from the “sky”.

Idea of pumpkin pie, yes. Sweet potato pie IRL, most definitely. I love watching these intricate cake episodes because I’ll never make one. 😊

Great video and cake!! I LOVE when you do milk bar creations. I've made about six of her cakes and I have to tell you that they always taste so much better homemade versus if you go into the bakery and actually eat things there. I think it has to do with the freshness and quality of Ingredients. Loved seeing some of your new production techniques as well. Maybe give her pretzel layer cake a shot!
@antichef5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Anthony! They are fun to make and all end up being some of my favourite episodes. I’m gonna add the pretzel cake to the list!

October is my favourite time of the year too!!! It's a great, autumnal entrance to the month of my birth, November. Yeah, I guess November is my favourite month. Yay!

I love pumpkin pie too. Not many in my family like it (they could probably give or take it), but I love the spices and the custard... all good. Yum yum.

Pumpkin pie, my absolute favorite since childhood! A close second is peach pie, but Thanksgiving and Christmas deserve pumpkin pie. Peaches are a summer thing anyway. BTW, sweet potato pies are just pumpkin pies made from sweet potatoes, the rest of ingredients are the same! Great video!

Wow, so this is like a 2 day process! Looks amazing, thank you for your highly entertaining videos, I really enjoyed watching but I don't think I will ever make this!

I love pumpkin pie too. Not so much sweet potato pie. I bought a butternut squash and want to see how that is for pie. Rumor has it that canned pumpkin has a significant amount of butternut.
@toushabonzai2 жыл бұрын
I heard that too. Canned pumpkin is usually not all pumpkin.

Butternut squash is close enough to pumpkin that I can’t tell the difference.

Last year I made my own pumpkin puree to make myself pumpkin spice latte at home. I just steamed the pumpkin, blended it and then caramelized it in the stove. Really sweet, really tasty. I always thought the canned pumpkin was made with some weird blend of ingredients or something, but if it's just pumpkin I don't understand why it's so special, so the cost of import is not worth it at all.

I think its time to invest in a stand mixer 🤔... btw, I think using fresh ginger is a great idea!!! ❤️
@donnalynn24 жыл бұрын
Using fresh is always better. Just remember you won't need as much as called for in the recipe. When pre-ground spices come to you they are already going stale. When you grind as you cook/baker it's much more potent.

Check out Sohla El-Waylly’s pound cake video to learn how to properly cream butter and sugar. Also fresh ginger loses its flavor WAAAAAY more than ground ginger when baked. m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXWpmaJtgMZ3mLs. Oh and Tossi’s Milk Bar pie is amazing. As is the apple pie layer cake.

Corn syrup seems to be a north American thing; allegedly, inverted sugar is extremely bad for you. I've never found corn syrup in the UK unless it's golden syrup.

@nixboox2 жыл бұрын
It is true, no one in the rest of the world understands why North Americans savage their pumpkins into a stodgy gloopy pie. I'm pretty sure no one really cares about the pumpkin part, its the pumpkin pie spice that everyone likes. I expect we could make anything at all with that flavor and call it a "tradition" and it would be wildly successful... Oh, wait...we already do.
