How to make Bamboo Chajras

Sourabh show us how the bamboo chajra are attached! I have plenty of bamboo growing nearby and would like to use it as you have, for lite roofing support.

I'm confused by why he splits the bamboo so many times. Doesn't that make it easier for the rain to leak through the roof?

they probably sealed the bottom of the bamboo with sheep metal or concrete or tarp somethiing like that
