This futuristic hairstyle! These baggy clothes! Unforgettable. I loved how cutting-edge and inventive was our style in late 90s and in the 2000s. The electronic scene also had a really strong flavour of "I bring the future, welcome to the new millenium!". The result was that I felt way more in the future in 2000 than I feel now. And what about the video itself? A lot of videos from this era looked particularly "artistic", with an interesting photography high in contrasts and with a "blurry" touch which gave us the impression to be within a dream. Fantastic. What happened to this audacious aesthetics?

loup neige Dude, you described the 90’s rave scene so perfectly. I’m sure you’re a lot older than me. I’m 29 years old, and I remember getting into this kind of music around 2003 when I was only 12 years old. Listening to real trance and dance music from this time is something that always makes me feel nostalgic and sometimes I wish I was as 18 during this time, because I would’ve loved to have been a part of this scene before it it went commercial in the US during 2011/2012. It’s 2020 now, and I still think about these simpler (and cooler) times that I was never a part of. But the music lives on.

@Evil robot Santa Claus Capella конечно же легендарную вещь выпустили в свой время, Drax помню частично. Но это другие по атмосфере и жанрам композиции. "Амфетамин" больше хардовый транс, местами экспериментальность. А у итальянцев типичный хаус. "In my mind" же - транс.

А что касается жанров, там можно конечно и ногу сломать.) Я помню время когда можно было отличить голландский транс от немецкого, израильского и т.д. Потом всё смешалось, и появился Армин (терпеть не мог его творчество) который своим влиянием опопсовил транс.

Согласен с тобой.. видно, что ты в курсе того транса, который абсолютно соответствовал своему названию. Это своеобразная атмосфера, и если описывать лаконично, то для меня это та музыка с помощью которой я мыслями ухожу как буд-то в другое измерение.. музыка которая меня туда уносит. Когда-то, кстати, я был модератором на экстрадиджей.) Ты вспомнил про то как Тиесто ушёл в коммерцию... я помню это время. Я помню ещё того Тиесто, и когда он начал пилить коммерцию, было ощущение что он нас отчасти предал. :) Кстати, его новая вещь "The Business" меня впечатлила. В свете современных тенденций - очень в точку, мне даже захотелось под неё танцевать.) Ещё одно воспоминание про уход в коммерцию - помнишь две части Ди Джея Грува "Reactivate 12"? Ранний Грув. Это было нечто. Я слышал оригинал, и у меня была кассета с версией от Грува - его несколько штрихов привнесли то, от чего я иначе воспринимал пластинку. Я эту кассету затирал до дыр слушая в плеере. Уходил вообще в другое измерение слушая её. :) *Pablo Gargano - Trance In Saigon*, *M - Pili Pili (Psycho Drum Mix)*, и кстати на этой же пластинке замечательная вещь угадай от кого) *Armin - Blue Fear* Армина, но когда он ещё играл Транс, а не поп-транс.. он тогда был просто Armin, без van Buuren. ) А от вещи *Taucher - Waters* на этой пластинке можно было вообще оргазм получить.)) Ещё помню времена как я познакомился виртуально с Dj Tapolsky. Его "DNB - Vol.4" это что-то с чем-то. Это не тот глупый d`n`b` который был простым "бум-бум-бум".. это красивый, выверенный, интеллигентный.. всё в английском стиле, в общем. ) *Brasil Is Back - Tommy Knocker [Intercom] - Dj Tapolsky*, да блин вся пластинка - эдакий d`n`b с явными английскими нотками в звучании. А моя любимая *Satisfy My Love - Peshay [Cubik]* переходящая в *People All Around - Tommy Knocker [Intercom]* их нужно обязательно слушать в такой последовательности. Меня этот симбиоз в 2002 году покорил. Я в том далёком 2002 даже не постеснялся написать Тапольскому на почту выразив своё восхищение. Это было тогда, когда ещё d`n`b не превратился в тупорылое, однообразное бумканье. И вот как-то потом поугасли ребята играющие в этих стилях, а им на смену никто не пришёл. Я параллельно интересовался и другими жанрами. Вообще воспитывался на западном роке, в основном. И на классике. Отец помог в развитии хорошего вкуса, я считаю. :) Так вот. Не многие знают эту группу, но в Breakbeat они были феноменальны. До них я пожалуй никого не слышал из электронщиков кто так гармонично, красиво, волшебно и виртуозно работал со звуками. Гениальные ребята являющиеся авторами таких культовых вещей как *Way Out West - Blue*, *Way Out West - Domination*, альбома *Don`l Look Now* и других вещей. Настоятельно рекомендую, если конечно не слышал, послушать их *Domination* и *Blue*.. они меня потрясают до сих пор. :) Про "Prodigy" без комментариев. Культовые. А вот из современных я бы отметил *Gramatik* - румын с явным английским стилем. Мне очень нравится как он работает со звуками вплетая их в свои композиции. Ещё отмечу коллектив *Lauge & Baba Gnohm*. Это уже больше PsyChill. С этой же оперы могу порекомендовать микс *AuroraX - The Emotions of Nature*.. это оргазм. Я в те года был подписчиком на DI.FM и часто рипал эфиры, вот удалось срипать этот редкий микс. И напоследок, несравненная вещь вне всяких жанров, которая может уносить меня из ощущения реальности - *iNDEX - You Are One in Space* P.S. Благодарю за альбом! :)

И оно не обязательно должно совпадать с моим. ) В нормальной, здоровой дискуссии хороши как одинаковые мнения так и разные.. это глупые начинают спорить в таких случаях, а другие беседуют извлекая полезное из мнения собеседника. :) В общем, будет интересно услышать от тебя оценку, ощущения, впечатления. Не часто встретишь в интернете хорошего собеседника который также увлечён хорошей музыкой.) Жаль что сейчас эпоха фаст-фуда во всём.. даже времени мало остаётся на такие беседы и смакование новыми композициями которые тебе открыл твой новый собеседник. @Evil robot Santa Claus (0) Похожая история. У друга компьютер и частая движуха гостей которые приносили музыкальные диски. Как сейчас помню как кто-то принёс диск на котором было написано что-то типа "Relax". Я поставил его, и обнаружил для себя две великолепные вещи. Рипнул сиди на ПК у друга, и добавил в заготовку для прожига через NERO. Так вот, я лишь лет 5 назад случайно вычислил кто автор тех треков. :) Есть такой потрясающий датский музыкант по имени *Lenny Ibizarre*. Обожаю его сборники и в частности его творчество. Образцовая фигура в ChillOut. А треки эти были: - Pink Flamenco - Puesta de Sol эти две композиции - это то, как я всегда себе представлял данный жанр. Это те сочетания, которые я люблю. Я даже не могу вспомнить сколько раз я переслушивал эти вещи. Я слушаю их периодически до сих пор, и восхищаюсь ими. Ах, да, про интернет... Это потом уже мы через dial-up качали с мизерной скоростью треки. Качали в то время с Delin .net А так, в основном черпал всё из приобретаемых мною кассет и позже CD, которые я выискивал очень тщательно. Даже помню своё первое знакомство с acid. К сожалению не вспомню уже как назывался тот сборник, но была там вещь благодаря которой меня заинтересовал этот жанр. Я всегда чувствовал кто выстрелит, а где пустышка. Очень много музыки переслушал, на разных жанрах "сидел".. даже на городском романсе, шансоне. На данный момент я убедился что мои стили - это всё-таки Rock и ChillOut, Ambient и им подобные. То, что я слушаю очень долгое время и не теряю интерес к ним. Одно время даже ваял свои компиляции "Aquamarine") Я не представлял и не представляю как можно жить без неё. :) Как в точку сказал Шекспир "Нет на земле живого существа столь жёсткого, крутого, адски злого, чтоб не могла хотя на час один в нём музыка свершить переворота." (1) Потом и я понял что монетизация тоже нужна. В общем, это было их решение. :) Что касается "The Business" - а мне зашло, он хорошо сбивает у меня периодически возникающую оскомину от более сложной музыки. ) Я вообще люблю иногда нечто простое, которое играет на примитивных чувствах. Да, я далеко не обладатель тончайшего вкуса. Местами он у меня даже примитивен. )) (2) Не, его тогда знали разве что только в узком кругу. Вот прям сейчас не вспомню какой это был год. Я тогда купил две кассеты Dj Groove "Reactivate 12".. по всей видимости он играл этот микс в клубе тогда. И он отличался от оригинального микса. Я в этом уверен на 100% :) Кассеты от украинской Western Thunder. Он в микс привнёс свою изюминку всего лишь на нескольких треках, и сделал это очень гармонично. Мне его версия нравится больше оригинала. Это уже потом он стал популярным. Кажется после выхода альбома "Ноктюрн". Как сейчас помню, как я в очередной раз обходил точки продажи кассет.. и наткнулся на знакомое имя "Dj Groove" указанное на кассете. Кажется оно было написано на русском языке, а обложка кассеты была в голубых тонах. Но могу ошибаться. В общем, я купил эту кассету так как уже был с ним знаком по Reactivate 12. Да, это конечно был уже другой Грув.)) Но популярность к нему пришла. (3) Мне всегда нравился мелодичный d`n`b / jungle. Но слушать долго я его не мог. Напористый ритм для меня. Первая вещь мне показалась отчасти импровизационно-экспериментальной, напомнило мне King Crimson и джазовые коллективы играющие в таком духе. Мне не заходит. ( А вот Shara - это то, что мне нравится. Хорошая вещь! (4) Разделяю всецело. И, хотелось бы заметить, экспериментально, но смотри как гармонично. Я привык, что когда "экспериментально" то это как правило чехарда и каша, пусть и виртуозно исполенная и свежая. У Way Out West же - на то время очень свежо, и как буд-то они уверенные и опытные в себе экспериментаторы. (5) Ох, Napoleon. Это же те, с "вкусным" альбомом *Magpies* который я купил в 2013 году? Балдею от их "Blue Sky". Люблю порой послушать такое воздушное, не оттягощающее как "The Same World" например. Всего тебе доброго! )
