poss vids: cleaning and care -- i've destroyed some pieces - live and learn - like never use a blow dryer even on low heat, just let them dry at room temp and buff with 100% cotton? sorry if you've already posted one; i'm just now starting to explore your awesome channel

I am buying a string of moonstone as o have an antique pendent from listening to your video it sounds like colorless Laborite marked with black tourmaline it is 90. 1/2 price what do you think?

Hi Juanita, thanks for your comment! Pricing is a tricky area: quality factors should be considered first, as well as the size of the beads, length of the necklace, and if there is a clasp what it is made from. The work that went into the piece also needs to be considered - for example, is the necklace knitted? When buying strands of stone beads, I like to look at how much the stones sell for wholesale on different marketplaces & then decide if the markup is worth the investment to me, or if I’d prefer to make it myself. I hope this helps! 💖

Great question - no, they are not always open backed. For example, one of the rings I showed ( German silver with the guilloche enamel and 2 moonstones) is closed back - closed backings can return light in a really beautiful way, and often designers take advantage of this 💖
