Love Kwikwood. You are right, it doesn't take stain well, but does any filler. Even the stainable ones. I found it in a dark color which helps.
@TheMissFlips9 ай бұрын
Oooh I’ll have to check it out. Thank you!
@datachickatl40929 ай бұрын
I think the reason the Kwikwood doesn’t take stain is that it’s not wood filler (thus no pores to absorb anything). It’s an epoxy putty - without all the stink and mess of something like Bondo. I absolutely LOVE Kwikwood, it’s so handy and it is really sturdy. I am amazed at how well you covered it, Marissa! I never thought of painting with gel stain. I usually just build up layers (more time!) and then Mohawk graining markers for touch up. What you did looks better! Gorgeous, gorgeous piece! Greetings from Milton, BTW!

Congrats on the book and I hope you sell all of them! I 1000% agree (is that such a thing?) on protecting your wood from you finish. I 'always' do this. If you want to refinish one of my pieces you will not have to suffer or hurt the wood to do it. I usually restore, but sometimes I do refinishes and I feel good about it for this reason. Love your EXCELLENT designs. 🥰

Thanks for your video! I've some questions. (1) it wasn't so clear how you cleaned off the QCS, because that part was high speed. (2) doesn't QCS recommend their own cleanser rather than water? (3) how would you clean off vertical slats on the back of an old armchair? (4) the seat of the armchair is curvy & with indentation so how does one apply a scraper on curvy areas? (5) How to scrape curvy spindles which act as horizontal-supports for chair-legs?

Hi there! Thanks for the questions. Is there any way you could reach out to me on IG or via email?
@minniyoutubaster5 ай бұрын
@@TheMissFlipsUh, if only this venue offered PM, then you could post me your email. I'm not sure what wood it is, so could that cause blotching when staining? Can i spray QCS in garage, then XX hours later, hose it off in driveway? How big a bottle of QCS to use for armchair?

Hi again MissFlips, i just replied to your response. I'm really anxious for answers as the chair has sentimental value to my BIL, who came to my rescue during my recent house flood that was like Niagra Falls (caused by cracked plastic valve on flexible hose of toilet). I'm still post-trauma as my floorboards are now warped & may be weakened. Insurance can be risky as its an early 50's house.
