Antique Boat Show Algonac Michigan 2019 Home of Chris Craft Boats. Check out these Beauties.
Check out these amazing boats. Water craft wonders in Algonac Michigan 2019. The Original Home of Christ Craft Boats. Started In Algonac Michigan by Christopher Columbus Smith. Chris built his first boat in Algonac in 1847 at the young age of 13.
This show was way better than I expected and dominated by Chris Craft's which was to be expected. It definitely brought back so many memories growing up on Lake St Clair... Amazing boats like Chris Craft, Hacker Craft, Lymann, Boston Whaler, Dura Craft, Hydro planes, those cars boats that can drive on land and water, Matthews, Magnum and many more... Handmade boats and everything... Great show...

Ever since I was a kid in the Bronx I loved those Chris Crafts at the dealership on Castle Hill Point . Yes the Bronx has a lot of waterfront on the East river and Long Island Sound. The salt water was tough on those beautifull wood boats.

Nice.... My parents had a 25' hard top with the varnish interior. Was a 1963. They purchased it used in 1969. They upgraded to a 28 in the mid 1970's. They went glass after that and it just wasn't the same. Thanks for watching and please subscribe to my channel and share with your friends.

She really really wants a burger. Gotta have one now. Had an old Chris Craft with Chrysler v8, she skidattled pretty well. Looked just like #2 When I was young back in the 70's we had a black and white Dura Craft just like the yellow one. We called it the bat boat Those BW Outrage are famous for how well they are. One of the best boats ever built

Great video - My mom Regina Berger when she was a teenage in Algonac, Michigan in the 1940's watched Chris Smith's grand kids - Bernard & Neil Smith. Their father also worked at the Chris Craft factory in Algonac. Chris Smith who was a duck hunter and made his own boats made some really neat wood fast boats. They just glided on the water too!

We used to have a boat like the Baily Blue in the early 70s. It wasn't stained wood like that but it was probably like that to begin with. It was painted white and we sold it to someone named George Johnson from New Jersey who wanted to restore it ike the Bailey Blue. It was our ski boat and could pull three skiers up without any problem. You had to really hold on being pulled up on your skis because it would pull out of your hands like nothing. Weused to race a lot of other newer race boats with my husband, three kids, two other friends with us, and leave the new race boats behind lkke they were standing still! Such fun! I thought it was our old boat at first because that was the year it was. It was 24 ft long. We got it with a marine engine in it, but the old engine was given to us in parts in boxes. I loved that old boat and cried like a baby when we sold it to get money to help buy a house.

That is absolutely the wrong engine in that Chriscraft 1947 U-22 Sportsman. It is supposed to be a 138hp 6 cylinder flathead Chrysler Crown engine with Chris Craft labeling. Chrysler didn't come out with a pushrod V-8 until 11 years later. Not possible for that engine to be original equipment. Although, a lot of people repowered their U-22's with a V-8, it devalues them tremendously, and personally, it's sad to see at a antique boat show.
