These copper pots are definitely “buy it for life” items. And often they’ll outlive ya. So while this kind of stuff is expensive, if one has the cash to outlay, it could be a better choice for many people than buying a new pot every few years several times in their life. Also, this might be a silly question, but how can you tell when a wood carving is hand-carved, versus manufactured in some more automated or machined way? I am learning furniture making and am starting to recognize when some furniture is built partly by hand or maybe on power tools but by a craftsman at home. But this could be a really great video idea. How do you look up close at a piece of furniture and identify roughly what era it is, what are the signs it was built by hand, or decorations carved by hand? You could teach us how to be better at antiquing wherever we are!

The doors were indeed a bargain! 👌 If you’re using in a coat (cloak) room, maybe the hooks are a good thing to keep for the wraps you use every day. However I know what you mean about focusing on the beauty of those doors! 🚪 They look a little rough on the back side, but I have no doubt you will be able to restore them to their original grandeur. Take us along on the cloak room journey. Where you will carve it from in your home and all of the reno'ing you'll have to do to make the room work for you. Thx!

Hi Sam, nice to have you join the vlog. Antiquing has always been my favorite hobby but I’m afraid my home can no longer contain more. Funny that American thinks we have antiques, well we do but not like the UK and other countries. I enjoy learning the history of the older countries such as France. The doors are nice even with the wood worm holes that shows the age. Now days furniture makers add fake ones.
