Ahhh the meat old hand turned meat grinder, I remember my mother( ❤💐 R.I.P 💐❤) using one of them ,,unfortunately she passed away on the 25 Nov 2020 last year due to illness, as she suffered from heart trouble angina ,,,diabetes ,,asthma plus other illnesses,,,,its hard to believe its a,most a year since my mum passed away at 93 years,,, I remember she used a meat grinder similar to the one in the video,, so this one was very special,,,because of her memory using a grinder like this.💌👍

I just bought a box of meat grinders at a flea market for $10. Took it home and fully assembled 7 in total. 3-universal #1's, 2 universal #2's, both with bread crumber and nut butter attachments. One I cant remember. But the last one has me baffled. All it has embossed on it is "Model A" and it looks extremely old. Nothing on the internet shows anything like it. There were so many foundries back then, it's hard to tell who made it.

Just stumbled upon your video on a whim - I inherited this exact model of grinder from my grandmother, and still use it occasionally: obviously it was kept in much better condition than this one and i keep it oiled. I've sadly never been able to confirm how old the #2 models are, as the #5's seem more prevalent.

Unfortunately there seems to be a missing piece, keeping the auger and the main body from separating, I could not find any info on the missing part whatsoever, so I highly doubt we would be able to a decent test that justifies the piece.

Just got my hands on a similar one "a Vintage Husqvarna Scandia No. 1 Manual Meat Grinder/ Mincer Made In Sweden" in an excellent condition (even the wood handle is in an excellent condition). Will cleanup and use within the following few days

That is not a meat grinder, it’s a bread crumber. Or at least that’s what the toothed cup on the front is for. A meat grinder has a different attachement on the front. Maybe that is why it doesn’t fit together properly.

Thanks for the info.
@stormkhan42503 жыл бұрын
Actually it is a meat, vegetable and fish mincer. I have a Spong & Company branded version and it is very similar. This particular one however seems to be missing a piece that covers the front and goes behind the rotating mincing blades.

I have an old Alexanderwerk grinder. But it has a normal blade and grille. What is this strange header with slots around the perimeter for? The main tube is also shorter. It's a bit strange to paint it white. These simple meat grinders go for a crazy amount of money online now.

@AJRestoration3 жыл бұрын
It is a non-toxic food-grade powder coat, so a little flake won't do you harm. Also, it will probably never process food again. It's a display piece.

Acho que vai precisar de um ponto de solda na outra ponta do pino onde fica o cabo de madeira da manivela, para não soltar, ja que o pino ficou curto para colocar uma porca ou bater com um martelo e fazer uma "trava"
@Sasquatchbeliever3 жыл бұрын
Looks good, but "restoration" means restoring the original parts and the wood handle was definitely fixable. You had to hammer in the metal handle part, which meant that it didn't twirl as it should when the grinder arm is turned. This is because it wasn't the original handle. It's true that during some restorations, some parts must be replaced, bit it wasn't necessary in this case. Just sayin.....
