I grew up in Girard, and used to ride my bike past the old wrench factory every day on my way to school, circa 1990. (At that time, the factory was "MorLite Equipment Co" and they manufactured light fixtures.) I always keep my eyes peeled for these old wrenches at garage sales, but I've never come across one!

Very satisfying to watch with a beautiful turnout. Love that it still looks like an antique tool, not a shiny toy.

i got a wrench exaclty like this i had some question if you dont mind me asking 1. what grit of sandpaper did you use on the handle 2. how long did you leave the metal soaking in vinegar?
@EDCEXPEDITION6 жыл бұрын
I started with 60 grit then moved up to 150 then to 220 grit. I let the metal parts soak in the vinegar overnight.

How do you get the end cap off the handle? Is a special tool needed? I've got one and I just can't get it to turn
@EDCEXPEDITION6 жыл бұрын
Robert O it just twists off like a screw. They are usually on there really tight. Try using a penetrating lubricant and non marring pliers.

good job on the Stillson Wrench : )
@cpeterson8775 жыл бұрын
It wasn't in bad shape in the beginning, just a little surface rust. IF it had any value as an antique it's gone now

Not a "monkey wrench" . That's a "Stillson" wrench..........just sayin.

Not a stillson wrench, its a monkey wrench. Just sayin. old patents comparing stillson to monkey wrench would disagree with you.
