Not a hatchet, not an axe. It is a billhook. Restoration LOOKS nice, although I question a restorer who cannot keep the rust off of their files and tools. And that edge should have been put on with a stone AFTER it was hardened, which was not done here.

Good job. What you have there is called a "bill hook" and is used for clearing brush, not chopping. There is another version that has a small axe on the back side of the blade and is called a "brush axe" and is used for chopping through heavier brush stalks. Not used for chopping wood as it is not heavy enough.

it honest work, not the best, but u try hard not like other utube restorators, who restoring whatewer they see, but dont know a shit about stuff and how it works. you just repair tool and it works, you dont do any useless job. take some practice of sharpening in future
