Great subject on this one! Being here in America, a lot of my collection is American silver so I’m used to seeing the single or double struck maker’s mark only on the earlier stuff, one of my favorite pieces is a colonial American Philadelphia tablespoon from the 1760s with the makers, mark struck twice. William Hollingshead.

That ink stand from Bath is exquisite! I found a small 18th century sugar castor with no marks of any kind. I think its American. Maybe its English and the hallmarks wore off. In any case , I only paid 3 dollars for a hand made early piece of silver. Thanks for the great video packed full of wonderful 15:36 information Michael! 1:01
