Thank you so much for these! So much nostalgia for me. I used to watch these with my family as a child on a Sunday evening in the uk. Currently in lockdown in Australia and these videos are bringing a lot of comfort and joy . Thanks again 🙏😊

"It was in a house that was full of junk" As an antique dealer and an appreciator of beautiful things, I cringe when I hear people say they cleaned all the junk out of a house. Always have someone with a bit of knowledge, someone you trust, go through the house with you. It might be mostly junk but there are always a few treasures! And sometimes, if you don't want the items yourself, they can bring in a fair bit of $$$$$!

I went into a house that had been sorted through by my aunt. She said "Go on in and take anything you want." I pulled out the metal floor furnace grates and got a ruby ring, set in gold.

Yes i cringed too when they say that - the fact they dont know what they have brought makes you think there was some good stuff in the "junk" - and people who toss everything thats broken or cracked bring me out in a cold sweat too

I have an antique toilet cabinet, still as a toilet, I collect antique potties, I also love the Victorian Era, I am a Housekeeper and clean toilets, so I own a tall Victorian chamber pot with wooden handle, the standard chamber pot, a standard that is beautifully decorated and is part of a Gentleman's set, the toilet cabinet, an enamel bed pan, an Ironstone bed pan with a spout and a man's ceramic urinal bottle and I think I might buy this enamel urinal, I saw at a thrift store soon. I also collect Men's shaving items, amongst other odd items, anything Victorian or antique that catches my fancy, I'm a 40 year old Women and it looks like a house of curiosity. I also have one of those tiny chamber pot potties like she has only mine has an eye in the middle and says on the outside " Just what the Doctor Ordered"

Everybody would want the woman as a sister who wouldn't consider selling the china left to her by her deceased brother. That's LOVE.

I don't envy Henry's job, especially after viewing that horrible thing he was presented with: A green goat's head vase. But he gave a little gulp and did his duty, leaving the presenter with a smile.

Nothing wrong with that vase! I'd have it no problems...
@steveyj752 жыл бұрын
Don’t know what appraisal you watched, but Henry clearly loved the vase. Watch a video on his collection some time. The goat is positively conservative compared to a lot of old pottery and ceramics, and for Ol’ Henry the guiding principle would seem to be “the gaudier the better”.
