There was an article in one of the shooting magazines years ago about someone having lead shots lining in there stomach, from the amount of shot game that he has eaten in his life. Thay was saying if that was Steel Shot he wouldn't have been able to have his MRI scan. It might be worth trying to find the article to see what it says. Is this something we will have to take into account when going for an MRI scan.

I've seen a few medical research papers that documented buildup of some lead shot in a few peoples' appendixes, but hadn't heard of it re: stomachs.

You are missing the point. It has absolutely nothing to do with environment or welfare or anything like that, it is purely the "green blanket" that they are trying to throw over yet another gun ban. Only this time it may just work as the world and their granny know that lead is "poisonous" so once they get lead ammunition banned, large numbers of shotguns and firearms become completely unusable or prohibitively expensive to shoot. Oh and as an added bonus they will no doubt force hugely expensive "environmental" clean up regulations on the shooting grounds and ranges forcing many to close and the rest crazy expensive to use, meaning many more people will be "encouraged" to stop shooting.

As an American who has done a reasonable amount of duck/goose hunting with steel shot, resist this whichever way you can unless you want to pay £8 per shell for some bismuth or other non lead shells that actually might work. They have never provided any proof of anything, man or beast that has obtained L3ad p01$on1ng from ammunition.

Try some Winchester drylock for the ducks and I use the blindside version with the square shot for the geese. I’ve taken geese at 60-70 yards with these and to be honest found absolutely no difference in performance whatsoever compared to lead

They banned new lead pipes decades ago and water companies have to replace them with non lead pipes when they fail. They are banned in new houses too since the 1970s

Look I have been shooting a very long time I have used steel if any thing is crewale it's steel . Lakes punch . However wy ant we using bismuth it wasn't great in the beginning now it's a whole different beast now especially when it's copper coated . We can't get Boss bismuth in the UK only chinese no one is happy with that so I ask the industry of malubel metal flingers in the uk give us this option it actually out performs lead this is a wagon we really can jump on . Even though lead isn't as toxic as suggested no we're near

It has been illegal to use lead in whet areas since 1986 i Denmark and there has been a total ban since 1996 for all hunting with shotgun cartriges with lead. This year they have expanded it and now we cannot use rifle ammunition with lead. It has showned not to be any problem what so ever. 💁🏻‍♂️ So dear Brits just do it be lead free. What is all the fus about ?.

What about those people that cannot use lead alternatives? Antique shotguns, muzzle loaders, .22LR etc etc (Yes I know .22LR has lead alternatives but they are stupidly expensive and not very good).

Why do it? Why spend all that money on something that's not an issue at all. It's a huge waste of everyone's time for a sub par ammunition. Lead works best and does nothing of any significance to the environment. It is naturally occurring after all.
