Do I need to buy a transformer if I'm just running one l3+
@RGBeanie7 жыл бұрын
You used all the pcie cables? The pictures and videos of the miner from other places only have the rear most cables plugged in, not all of them. Not sure what the difference is

yup, used every cable

do i need a monitor for this miner? how do you set up the ip address?
@EricFisher.TheVillages5 жыл бұрын
Hi just helping a friend setup and it says on that same sheet you are working from to power the control board 1 min after the hash boards. You didn't mention anything about that in your tutorial. Just to be clear it's suggesting that I start plugging in the control board when it's already running ? Also I don't need a transformer if I am just power one L3+ miner which just uses as standard computer three pin plug, correct ? Thanks

I've seen other videos show the antminer L3+ plugged into a regular USA socket drawing 120w with no issues. why are you stepping up the wattage to 220?
@rushingaming83477 жыл бұрын
by the way, profits are around +/- $1600 using prohash pool as it mines the best scrypt algo coin at any given moment.
@chetrodell7 жыл бұрын
it costs half as much to run, at 240 watts it uses half the amps.

Crypto please help me understand what do you plug this miner into? Like do you just hook it up to a monitor and turn it on or do you hook this to a motherboard etc.. please help thanks.
@skyblue99917 жыл бұрын
Maxwell Runion If I'm not mistaken you ether it to the router then find the ip by logging into the router. The ip is whats needed on the various mining pool sites.

hello could you please let me know what is the heat rejected by L3+ and power supply? in other words is possible to measure the temperature out vs the temperature IN? that i will appreciate you help because i need this info to build my cooling system thanks
@CryptoTrends7 жыл бұрын
about 70 degrees Farenhiet..... anything less is great.... above that temp.... may be issue depending.... if you can sustain 80 degrees.. ok. but key word sustain... if you leave the house and your windows and doors are closed... you may be "accumulating heat" that's a problem
@IamColt137 жыл бұрын
Are you using just a separate monitor to set up the antminer? or are you hooking it up into your laptop?
@CryptoTrends7 жыл бұрын
don't have to monitor it 24/7... once it's up and running you can turn your computers off... miner connects to the network. as long as your internet is on it'll mine.
@reidelsass74887 жыл бұрын
I am wondering if I can hook an antminer up to my mac to mine
@reidelsass74887 жыл бұрын
does it send the coins wirelessly? I don't understand the transferring process from the antminer to your wallet
@CryptoTrends7 жыл бұрын
then it would be a mac-miner.
@CryptoTrends7 жыл бұрын
the "transferring" occurs through the "internet"..... you have something called a "LAN" .... LOCAL AREA NETWORK...... your miner.... talks to your computer on the LOCAL NETWORK...... your miner..... solves "algorightms" on the "blockchain"........... the blockchain is on the "internet"
@reidelsass74887 жыл бұрын

Hi, I'm curious to know about what kind of "special needs" this machine would require. Does one need a special air cooled room for it or could you kinda leave it in a basement? How would one go by to create such a room for it if necessary? Thanks :D
@CryptoTrends7 жыл бұрын
@CryptoTrends7 жыл бұрын
that... and... the machine will naturally suck up all the dust in your house... dust.... accumulates... in the miner over time... it clogs... creates rust buildup... residue... if the miner isn't maintained it will stop mining... so you'll have to turn it off... clean out everything... with like LP air and just dont put water on contacts..... clean the fan out... then restore and turn on... maybe update firmware....
@cptlancia75477 жыл бұрын
What about the room itself? I'm guessing it will heat up as well without proper air supply. Would an open door be enough to cool that back down again?
@CryptoTrends7 жыл бұрын
depends on the temperature outside... if hot.. you'll need to close the door and turn on the a/c... if it's cold outside then yes it's ok... however, if it rains outside.... and miner is near window... your doomed

Hi, Thnky ou for your tutorial video. I am actually pretty new to cryptos and I have just got delivered my 2 Antminer L3 and I am trying to figure out how to set them up. Coudl you please help me with a couple of questions. I can actually see that the miner has 8 PCI-e slots and power board has 10 PCI-e slots. I have connected the 8 but im not sure what to do with the other 2. Also when i plugged the ethernet cable to one of the miners I am left with none in my computer. Does it mean that I need two computers to plug my two miners? or is there another way I can do it. thank you
@CryptoTrends7 жыл бұрын
plug in all the cables.. preferrably 1 psu to 1 miner..... (stacking psu's can be tricky - not recommended)... if you can't find the miner.... go into your router via your.... IP.... use google "myip" .... once in your router..... you can usually find your miner with the DHCP list...
@jw93387 жыл бұрын
Does it have an OS built in? Plug in keyboard, mouse, monitor, and go?
@skyblue99917 жыл бұрын
Jeremy Wilbur no, you ether it to the router then log into the router to find out its IP address. You use a separate computer all together to link the miners router to the mining pool.

can you plus in the power supply into 110v outlet?
@CryptoTrends7 жыл бұрын
plug in? .. yeah... you "can" ... but that PSU I'm using only operates on 220... so if you plug into a 110... it'll just idle... like... blow air out the fan on the PSU... but not actually do anything..... However, bitmain does sell 110 type PSU's ... but they operate at a lower wattage rating... you get best bang for your buck with a transformer unless your house or whatever has 220v outlets.

on the mining service's site..... like on VIABTC for example..... you'd go to "wallet" ..... and specify which address you want to withdraw funds to. same for Antpool etc.

Can some one tell me how to configurate it , coz i am new in mining and just bought it on wuxi-dark????
@CryptoTrends7 жыл бұрын
idk wuxi dark... but congrats to you. follow the hardware part here. VIABTC and ANTPOOL are nice pools. just make an account... and on each pool they show example of how to fill out the data on your miner.... "data on miner" = the part where you locate your miner on the LAN and log in with "root / root" .... then once your in you gotta fill out the "Miner Confguration" ... your... "worker"..... that stuff has to kinda match what the pool tells you to use...... like... URL: stratum-ltc.antpool.com:8888 or whatever.... and the WORKER is like your login.... greguser.L3 or whatever you make it... password for ANTPOOL can be blank..... VIABTC is good too..
