Antoine's songs are so fun to play. They feel completely different from playing songs by any other musician. Once you get his techniques down, his songs are usually pretty easy too. I think that alternating between all the different techniques makes it easier than if the song were played in a more normal style. Antoine is such a genius.

I couldn't agree more! He is an absolute genius! Many of his songs (such as 'These Moments' and 'To Run in a Dream', both of which I can play) are extremely hard, though!. It just takes a massive amount of practice and emotion to pull them off. Keep playing, mate! The world needs guitarists to play these heavenly pieces! :)

***** Yep, These Moments is the hardest song I've ever learnt, I found it harder than any of the Andy Mckee songs I've learnt (Drifting, Art of Motion, For my Father and Rylynn). Absolutlely love it.

Yeah! Glad you agree. I do think some of his older stuff is harder, but a lot of the songs from his new album aren't hard once you get the hang of his playing style. Definitely hard to write like he does, though!

And that's how you know hes a genious. Because when you hear what he does and watch him do it, it looks and sounds impossible. But when you learn a few percussive techniques, get your harmonics down and get your hands on the tabs..I won't say it's all totally easy but with dedication you can figure his stuff out. Because when you hear/feal his music it just makes sense.

This one has an unorthodox flow to it. I notice something different that I like about the timing each time I listen to it. I love the way Antoine always places the natural harmonics so that they mesh in with the melody while contrasting with the root or bass section so well. Just one of the many reasons he is one of my favorite fingerstyle players!

The thing I love about Antoine Dufour, Andy Mckee and Don Ross is the fact that they've set aside every notion of what standard guitar playing is and sought out to create their own sound even without the use of picks most of the time. The guys at Candyrat inspired me to start playing the guitar in the first place. Why would they make me want to quit? I guess everytime I hear any of them, I'm torn between writing stories and practicing musical intruments... So I've managed to do both, using songs I've written while practicing as inspiration for my stories, and while the songs aren't as good as these, the stories show their true inspiration from here, always doing the songs justice. It's not a hobby, it's a life.
