Antoine Walker (49pts/Career High) vs. Wizards (1998)

A highlight reel I had to re-make because the previous one sucked (audio was way off). Antoine Walker uses nifty moves around the paint to score on Juwan Howard whole game long. If only Wahkah (Bob Cousy voice) could make free throws, he would have a 50+ point game. And if only he wouldn't have six personal fouls at the end of the game, the Celts might have got him the ball for the final three pointer to finish the comeback. The comeback Toine himself started with some beautiful threes. January 7, 1988.

Antoine's footwork and ball handling was ahead of his time. 2:33 Step back that all the kids do these days.

I agree with his footwork and ball handling 100%. At the time, his crossover was unrivaled by anyone else in the league whose name wasn't Tim Hardaway. His biggest problem in the NBA was that he fell too much in love with the 3 ball.

@@d_man_beats that couldn't be because Iverson was in the league too. Also Marbury and grant hill...Respect to the rest of the comment minus the crossover.

He actually used to do this quite a bit in the 90s, with Bob Cousy as the color guy. One of the few who could do both.

Kemba Walker is a Celtic right now and is wearing the same number. So whenever you see someone with a Celtics jersey that has number 8 on it you think, Hmm... is it Walker or Walker?

I wish somebody had footage of the game (or was it two games?) when Antoine Walker came back to the Celtics in 2005 and wore #88 for his jersey number, before Al Jefferson gave up #8

It is also now striking me that nobody seems to have any footage of Antoine Walker playing for the Atlanta Hawks in 2004 and early 2005. Boston then traded Gary Payton to the Hawks, who refused to go. I remember that well.

I might upload it someday, but I have a 2003-04 Celtics/Pistons preseason game on tape, the significance of the game being that Antoine Walker was still on the Celtics and played heavy minutes. Antoine Walker did not officially play any games for the 2003-04 Celtics. Many people probably forget he was dumped from the team in the Preseason, and not the previous Summer. Antoine Walker never fit in with the Dallas Mavericks. The Celtics tanked as well. 2004 was the first time the Celtics ever got swept from the Playoffs by double digits in all four games

This era of Celts was hampered by bad coaching...Pitino was a boob and Jim OI'Brien had them half court trapping like a high school team. If the Pierce/Walker Celts were an offensive minded team they woulda gone farther.

This Toine was a beast. Saw him in Madison Sq Garden game and he abused Othello Harrington for 35, all post moves. He stopped rebounding and fell in love with the 3. I think when it became Pierce's team he got the attitude.
