I would not say he inspected EO, it just happened by chance (1/8) 4 pairs is insane of course, and I have no idea what the hell is going on in his head, maybe he can see sth about EO, but i would say he did not inspect that in these solves (not manipulating edges with the last F2l and no EO alg after)

yeah it's debatable. If you look at the last f2l pair for the 2 solves where he completed EO, it looked like normal f2l solving could give you free EO. But again, could be wrong if somehow Xuanyi was already influencing EO earlier, but I doubt it.

@maxxiong8 ай бұрын
Literally two 2-look solves for Xuanyi
@FlashRayLaser3 ай бұрын
I'm glad someone else said it. Being that he has the fastest ZB recognition yet seen to date, it's a bit insane that he would just so happen to be able to sometimes inspect all the way to a ZBLL case. I don't think he's capable of planning three pairs and predicting the ZBLS (I may be wrong) and is instead planning four pairs with edge control. So he probably has to make a choice between planning 3 pairs, doing the ZBLS, then doing the ZBLL, or planning four pairs with edge control, skipping the need for ZBLS, and doing the ZBLL. But there's an additional thing here. If he's so good at tracking pieces that he can average four plus pairs in inspection, in those cases where he only does three, he can probably predict ZBLL from ZBLS to an extent. Either way we're looking at two-look cube in which there's no counted pause time before the first look. Just a situation tailored algorithm planned in inspection, recognition of one thing, and another algorithm. It totally removes the pressure of thinking during the solve. All he has to do is develop high TPS and we're all cooked. Yiheng already has some mid to high 3 averages at home under his belt. So we know they're possible and coming. But this kid might be the one to actually make us have to ask if a sub-3 average is possible in ten years.
@letsprogress41242 ай бұрын
@@FlashRayLaser why do u think he can see zbll from zbls?
@FlashRayLaser2 ай бұрын
@@letsprogress4124 It's an in depth answer but here you go. So first of all, in standard OLL and PLL, after a certain amount of years and a ridiculous amount of solves, a bit of a sixth sense regarding PLL develops. I remember first hearing about this and thinking it sounded like total bull until it started happening to me. It's like this new form of (almost) skip that happens every so often seemingly at random, but you just "feel" and trust with 99% certainty that you're going to get a certain PLL. What's really going on is that even though you never consciously thought about it, on a subconscious level you've memorized how the OLL you use affects permutation, and sometimes the PLL pops right out at you. So Xuanyi would need to develop a similar sense from his ZBLS recognition stage of what the ZBLL would be. That's a lot more algs to have to develop a sense for than few fully can with just OLL. But here's the thing: ZBLS is basically just inserting your last pair while using edge control. Xuanyi not only generally is already thinking about edge control during pair one, but can just plan the entirety of F2L with edge control. The point is ZBLS isn't actually purely algorithmic for him. It's similar to the F2L of top cubers. They do it intuitively but they're also technically just using the best algorithms the entire time. It's just that they understand them, which is why they can also modify them on the fly when needed. That's ZBLS for him. He has an enormous leap on understanding it, and he tracks the state of all edge pieces on the cube so effortlessly that it would be hard to believe he doesn't very often know the ZBLL as soon as he knows the ZBLS. That's why his reaction time is so insane: He's not recognizing so much as verifying. Edit: Just some additional info for cubers who might think they could never do that. Well, have you ever noticed starting to be able to tell when a PLL skip is coming? That means you can do it. Those will come first. Then you'll get where you can tell when other PLLs you like are coming next. Seems to go from there, but the first will be when you start automatically realizing you have a PLL skip almost every time one occurs. You just see that it's one sprint to the finish line and to drop the cube without second guessing it.
