I was running that race and when I saw him run by I was all "no f'in way" and the people around me had no idea who he was. I got a cool picture with him after the race.

I also ran it that same year and it was my first time running it. I waited around for a bit while he chatted with some of his friends and I managed to get a picture with him.

Glad to see that Tony is doing a bunch of "fun" races rather than just pounding himself down with long races. It's too bad that he didn't make it into Hardrock. It's gonna be a great race.

wow 10 mile time is not so good. He's slow. You'd think all those 100 milers would translate to faster times at the shorter distances.

No, not really. Short distance races have to be trained for because they require more explosive power and overall speed. Fuel strategy, body chemistry, etc. are designed for specific distances and terrain. Ultra runners quite often win through strategies of attrition. It's still a bloody good time, though! He was probably just having a bit of fun.
