I view his philosophy as an effective means of "breaking out" of traditional collectivist views if that is something a person desires, but I don't necessarily find as much value in it as a life-long framework. I agree with Anton more than I disagree, and I think you've done a great job covering the material. Will you be covering any of Anton's other literature as well?

Then we'd reveal our affiliations and point to where in our respective Bibles we were getting our ideas from. The Satanist and I thought it was funny, nobody else at the time did.

Why do you dislike it? If you dont mind me asking. @@mandrakeruth just to be clear i am offended by the ideology and not by you, you seemed at the first comment to be interested in perspectives so i shared mine -- i find social darwinism quite disgusting, obviously that is due to the trauma of existing as someone who needs support in a society that likes to tell us that we don't deserve it. like that's my reason for why it's bad: it shapes a kind of world that i hate. it's hard to communicate tone on the internet, i much prefer communicating irl, but when i said "i hope that explains it?" i was being geunuine, not sarcastic.

@@mordcore alright apologies, its true that its hard to tell the meaning someone has in writing, I assumed that you were being sarcastic,my bad. And I can understand the reaction you have, it makes sense. But to speak of nietzsche again, who is, I think, the most intelligent social darwinist, if we you could even call him that. I think its interesting that he himself had a severe illness through all his life, which caused him much suffering, and was also probably a cause of his death, or at least it contributed to it. You could definitely call it a disability. And the interesting part is, according to himself when he was suffering the worst of his illness his philosophical writings were also the most cruel and the most " the weak shall perish and we shall help them do it" and similar stuff. So one theory is that it was a sort of coping mechanism for him, a way to make his heart stronger by, you could say pretending to be more able than he was. But I don't think it was just pretending, in a real way I think his illness made him a more beautiful and profound person, as he himself thout, it did. So, I guess what do you think about a person who is themselves disabled in some way, but also is a social darwinist?

Why Start a search for an origin that only ends up in disagreements? It's really funny to be humans. But more funny to waver between options when the options already chose themselves!!! I was thinking about how I didn't like or dislike this whole thing when you asked people to do something at the end of the video. I guess I'm the only person who is like meh. lol

Loved the dry humour wittiness throughout the video, but do not need a visual punchline, let your humour bleed through for those of us that understand its humour no need to highlight it. Cheers!

🏆🔥 I'm gonna do these emojis, 'cause, as someone who leans more into the Ásynjur, I neither accept nor reject LaVeyan Satanism's precepts. I believe Satanism is a valuable counterbalance to, and subversion of, the Abrahamic religions. I cheer on Satanists over the anti-human, anti-reality worldviews of the mainstream of the Abrahamic religions, but I also realize that Satanism partakes of this tradition. As well, where the hell is Angelo? I thought he was taking over this channel. Couldn't hack it, I guess. 😋 Also, if you haven't yet, listen to Twin Temple!

His brilliance is tricky, but from what I see and know, poor people should imitate his Creed with diligence.

Anton was a product of his time, his experiences and his location. The CoS was an expressive counter cultural phenomenon that attracted all walks of life. To view the CoS as merely a 'Satanic' and/or 'occult' movement would be inadequate. Anton's influence on Satanism as a philosophy and a reductionist approach to everything cannot be stated adequately. Anton will have a special place for many of us ever more.... AVE ANTON....!

Both a 😈 and a 👿, because like a lot of people here I think there’s merit to these ideas, but they can be vague which typically doesn’t help with countercultural movements in my experience. I think a lot more people were provoked rather than enlightened, and yet, it’s that same level of abstraction that allows it to be meaningful I suppose. The idea of internal salvation as a product of psychological strength seems practical enough to me, although I don’t really feel that that has a direct connection to equality or a lack thereof. I think strength is recognizing that you’re already doing the hardest thing by BEING human. I like Epicurean hedonism. Because feeling like we need more exacerbates the void that keeps us WANTING more, so if pleasure is the absence of pain, then maybe it’s more pleasurable to free oneself from those desires BY recognizing one’s own value. So, with a bit of introspective reasoning, I suppose I MOSTLY agree with Mr. LaVey.😅

I was always under the impretion that he was an atheist? He was just mocking religion. Also was it true that he saw God on his death bed and regretted what he did??? Or is that just some made up rumor. 😈 👿.
@wilhelmvonn96199 ай бұрын
It was made up by Christians who felt justified in lying if it promotes their religion. Many similar "deathbed conversions" have been invented.
@natureswrath76659 ай бұрын
That was a rumor, as for him being an atheist, no. Either he is a Satanist as the modern CoS views it, which is atheistic but not the same as atheism, or he was something a little more, which there is some interesting evidence to if one looks closely. Either way he was certainly not Abrahamic, and followed a spiritual path focused on self empowerment and indulgence in what life offers

👿 While I do respect the influence The Satanic Bible has had, I very much disagree with LaVey's hyper-individualistic worldview. I understand its appeal, and I can see it being useful in certain situations, but applied to a wider societal level, it does not hold up.
@neonspec5 ай бұрын
Satanism isn’t meant for wider society. That’s the point. It’s a philosophy and religion that’s not intended for the masses but for a select few.
