This is just too good to be true! I'm beginning to think that Dvorak's five later symphonic poems (The Water Goblin, The Wood Dove, The Noon Witch, A Hero's Song and this one) are not only among his finest compositions but, arguably, also among the best ever examples of that particular orchestral form. Well that's only my opinion, of course. To me, Dvorak's Golden Spinning Wheel is virtually laying the groundwork for, or anticipating, the likes of the tone poems of Sibelius and Bax, for instance. Such utterly spellbinding music. The performance and sound in this upload? Whew.........

I love the part beginning at 11:42. The orchestration is so fucking rich. I recommend listening with headphones on at max volume beginning at 11:58 to hear those pulsing Gs in the bass. Excellent piece.
