The reviewer did fail to talk about it. You can dash multiple times in a row with a crash team racing style clutch mechanic. You can smash through an obstacle or enemy with a speed boost by dashing right before impact.

You can chain dashes together by timing them properly with the meter at the bottom right of the screen
