Anger Foot was not only my favourite game of 2024 but is really up there when it comes to favourite titles of all time. Such a hidden gem! Also, I played it on GeForce NOW Ultimate tier with RTX 4080 on and it was really smooth on the highest details + 120 Hz except that final segment with the machine gun on the last level.

re:run is #1 and nobody can change my mind. playing casually? it's alright, i would say a 7.5/10. speedrunning, or challenging yourself to do things like no sword or pacifist? 10/10 any day, especially if you play swordless. coming from a swordless runner, the amount of challenges you need to think through is insane. the sheer amount of tech is crazy. if you hit crouch and jump in a specific precise way you can double jump with no powerup, or triple jump with one. crouching right after or before jumping gives you different amounts of speed and height, and both are useful in different scenarios. strafing while holding forwards and jumping makes you accelerate faster, and it feels amazing. it's like you're drifting in mid air, it's hard to master but once you do the jumps you can make and the times you can get are insane. if you get one of the non-moving sword enemies to attack you, they move a little. you can lure them off platforms, or make them slash the wooden planks to break them. if you crouch in just the right way into an archer, they shoot themselves with their bow. bow enemies can friendly fire, and have a tendency to shoot through walls making easy kills possible. it scratches an itch karlson never could, it honestly feels like the movement is way more fun and polished. the pure satisfaction of hitting the perfect double jump glitch at high speed to clear a level fast is unmatched by any other game i've ever played. just beating level 7 without a sword has to be one of the most challenging and most rewarding things i've ever done, it was a real test of figuring out how to put the pieces together and then putting the plan into action. also, 7th? really?
