I'm gay, I'm in Poland and there have been gay prides for quite a few years. I never ever had a problem here and, politics aside, Poles don't give a damn shit generally speaking. I am a foreigner here. It's important to really know what's going on before speaking up.

I'm a lesbian from Poland and I have to disagree. I grew up in a very homophobic community, I'm very afraid to come out to my parents. The situation in Poland is hard for lgbt mostly because of hate coming from the church and ruling party. They literally call us rainbow plague and say that we want to destroy catholic church and polish families. I was an active member of church until during a youth meeting a priest told us that every lgbt person is a member of a satanic church. It hurt. I also participated in the infamous pride in Białystok. I've never been more scared in my entire life, I thought they were going to kill us. Nationalists were throwing stones, bottles and firecrackers at us. I got hit by a stone (luckily in the leg) as well as the girl next to me (unfortunately in the head). After the pride we were scared to go back home because nationalists were beating up people on the streets. I know that in bigger polish cities the situation is not as dramatic (for example I participated in pride in Kraków and it was super safe) but we have to remember about people from the more conservative parts of Poland.

@@plantdad4423 well, Bialystok and Warsaw are incomparable, unfortunately. I get your experience, and I totally understand it. My perspective is more Warsaw base. However, in the video people aren't describing the whole picture, they're giving this image fo Poland that isn't real. You can be gay and be okay.

@@pensaingiallo Yeah, it's not the whole picture but I think that Antoni was mostly talking about Białystok and other prides in smaller cities that are met with backlash. And while Warsaw is a really great place for gay people not everywhere is as nice, for example a local government in a town next to mine started preparations for creating an anti-lgbt bill and I know that this idea is rather common in smaller cities. But I hope that one day all polish prides will be as safe as the one in Warsaw!

@@plantdad4423 true! I kinda overheard the city unfortunately. Anyway, Bialystok, let's face it, is Polska C (if not Z). Not that it's an argument to defend the violence, because I don't condone it, but there being anything other than white, straight and proper is dangerous. In Polska A is better, however there is indeed a lot of work to be done here. Hopefully it'll be better sooner than later. But that specific fact does not imply that there is constant violence against LGBT in whole Poland, I know gays from all over Poland and as long as they followed the script (which is more behavioral) they were fine. It's just that being outside the norm here is dangerous, be it LGBT o be it part of a tribe.

I think it’s just that he looks like Patrick Bateman... I usually have a good sense for creeps and I don’t get creepy vibes from him. He does have a “I’m a famous person’s boy toy and that’s how I got my job” vibe but like... I’m not judging u do u boo
